Just curious to know how many people sneak on to this forum during work time at their jobs?? When I get into work this is the first thing I like to do if I can! Luckily everyone's internet usage is not monitored here. I work at law firm and if someone was spending all their time on the internet they'd know by the lack of work, but I still try to sneak peeks when ever I can (like now)!

Thanks
Kim

I sneak on to the forums here at work way too much! No one has said anything to me about it, but if they did, I would justify it by saying that I spend less time doing this than a lot of the smokers we have at this place who always seem to be outside hanging around the parking lot having a ciggie. At least I am at my desk, available if anyone calls or comes by my office.

I check, but try to do it when it looks like i'm eating lunch at my desk and i'm "on break", and of course, I can still answer the phone.

I, too, work in a law firm, and I unfortunately seem to end up having a lot of down time at my job. I check the Forums regularly, but I never do it unless I'm absolutely caught up on all my work. I also am at my desk whenever someone needs me and I immediately stop what I'm doing on the Internet to do whatever I'm asked to do.

I switch between the Cathe Forum, The Firm and Video Fitness regularly.

RE: I am guilty

and that is where I am right now. I don't do it often though because I am so busy at work and really cannot find the time most often. Coffee breaks and down time are the stolen moments here and there.

I work at a law firm too and had better get back at it.

Seems like a few law firm workers are checking in, its interesting to read the responses. Veronica you have a good thing to say if someone questions you! I have a computer at home, but with the kids, husband, and everything going on I don't ususally check it as much. Plus I also noticed that Cathe seems to respond to questions usually between 1 and 3pm most of the time.

My thoughts exactly Veronica. I am the only one in our small office not related to someone in the small town I live in ... so everyone has lots and lots of personal conversations during the day...and the smokers have the hourly breaks...so I feel checking my mail is far less intrusive in many respects than either of the above.

Hi - I'm the IT/network admin here, so I am the one montoring our network, and no one questions what I do computer-wise. But yes, I check the forum several times a day. Sometimes I search the archives for info

Surprise, surprise... I also work at a law firm! :)

I work in an area where people passing by can see my monitor, and of course, when our head immigration and estate planning attorneys walk by, I happen to be checking my Yahoo! mail or this forum. Just my luck.

I try not to spend too much time on here, as addictive as it may be. With e-mail, I feel less guilty (especially inter-office), but with these forums (including the Firm's and Video Fitness), the guilt creeps up on me really fast. :) But I still manage to get myself up to date!

Out of curiosity, of those of you at law firms, what kind of work do you do?

Take care!

RE: Hello Amy

I also work in an area where people can see my monitor when they walk by and the minimize button works well I find. :) Actually, I don't have to worry too much because my internet time at work never amounts to more than 10 or 15 minutes in a day.

I work as a legal secretary for the Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission and we specialize in family and criminal law. We do not have the resources to work in any other areas of law but occasionally (in the past) have done a will or two, etc. to help some under privileged people really in need. These days, however, it is all we can do to keep up with our case load in the range of services that we do provide. Never a dull moment.

Hi guys! Yep, I'm a legal asst. too. And yep, I'm at work right now but usually we're so swamped I can't spend too much time here although I don't worry too much about being on the forum while at work because my attorney is really cool and he doesn't care what I do as long as the work gets done by the deadline. The majority of our practice is family law but we also do some criminal, estate planning, bankruptcy and general civil litigation stuff.

Lady Justice is definitely proving to be a Cathe fan!

Hi Amy! I work as a legal secretary doing mostly commercial litigation and landlord/tenant and some other various general matters. It's not very exciting, but I like working in the legal field versus doing regular secretarial work. I've also done crminal, Personal Injury and Workers' Comp. Defense. Criminal was the most interesting--I did that in MN before I moved to Atlanta.

Hi Everyone,
I work in a law office for my husband, so basically I can do whatever I want (heh-heh-heh). If he can log on to boring golf sites, surely I can log on to Cathe's when we have down time. If he gives me any trouble, I'll just threaten to go home and do a Cathe tape.....just kidding (sort of).
