Cathe Calendar Results for March

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
It is time to flip your Cathe calendar again! I made a commitment to post an update every month even when I do not have good news to share. It keeps me from riding off into the sunset when I have a less than stellar month. March was one of those months. Here are my results (and I am so not looking forward to writing these on my calendar):

+4 pounds in March :(
+1" chest :(
+1" waist :(
+1" abdomen :(
+1" hips :(
-0" right thigh
-0" right calf
-0" right upper arm

-16 pounds in 2007
-1" chest
-5" waist
-5" abdomen
-3" hips
-1" right thigh
-½" right calf
-½" right upper arm

The time changed kicked my butt and disrupted my sleep schedule. My workouts suffered for a week as a result, and I had to do a few evening workouts until my body adjusted to the time change. As I shared last month, evening workouts definitely do not work for me. I bounced back. Then I got caught in a hormonal hurricane, had a battle with severe PMS, and my cycle was over a week late. I am not a weight training lover, but I flirted with the Gym Styles and decided that I would rather give up my washing machine and beat my undies against a rock in the river than do those upper body workouts. Yes, my first experience with those workouts was that traumatic. (I do love Gym Style Legs). A 3-day split does not work for me when my focus is fat loss. I actually enjoy the Slow and Heavy Series because Cathe is so funny in that series, but I do not lose weight when I do a rotation with those workouts. It is time for me to return to more cardio and circuits. Without a doubt, my body needs cardio, cardio, and more cardio for fat loss.

A friend died unexpectedly, which was my sad news for the month. I signed up for the Cathe Road Trip. That is my good news for the month. I peeked at the scale a week ago. I was holding steady as of then. I was fine with that in light of everything. I completed 12 weeks of Cathe workouts and decided to give a recovery week another whirl. I had a better game plan this time. I decided to return to the TLTs and old FIRM workouts. My recovery week was a disaster once again. I did Better Burn Better Buns, the Hare, Cardio Burn, Better Body and Buns, and Maximum Cardio. I planned to do Strength in Movement but crashed and burned before I got around to it. I enjoyed all my workouts but missed the high I feel after my beloved Cathe workouts. I battled the blues all week and could not sleep through the night. For the first few nights, I woke up at 2:00 a.m. and could not get back to sleep. For the last 2 nights, I woke up at midnight and was wide awake the rest of the night. I battle mild depression and serious insomnia every time I attempt a recovery week. This was my third or fourth attempt at a recovery week, and I am finally realizing that I am just not cut out for recovery weeks. My body needs intense cardio for mental health reasons as well as physical. I can keep the blues at bay without anti-depressants simply by doing Cathe cardio every week. Even her less intense workouts like Low Impact Step and Cardio and Weights are happy workouts that make me feel so good. My work performance definitely suffered, and my boss was not happy with me last week.

My name is Heather. I am addicted to Cathe cardio. I have withdraws when I do not get my fix. Cathe can put me on permanent preorder.

By the way, I fasted chocolate and cheese for 40 days and did not drop a pound. I gained 4 pounds during my recovery week and gained an inch in my chest, an inch in my waist, an inch in my abdomen, and an inch in my hips. I enjoyed a few treats this past week, so my eating was not as clean as it has been. Feel free to give me a kick in the butt. It is not really necessary because I am good at falling on my butt and bouncing back again. The party is over. It is time to start training for the Cathe Road Trip. This is dawn of a new month. Spring has arrived, and bluebonnets are blanketing the beautiful Texas landscape. I am ready to break free from this fat cocoon. Yes, it is time. Saddle up your horses and get ready for a great and glorious adventure. Come along if you dare!

Does anyone have positive results to share for March?

Blessings,
Heather B.

Heather,

Thank you so much for sharing your progress with us yet again. You've had a very difficult month. Your strength, determination and encouraging outlook are very motivational for me. I plan to make April, 2007 "my" month and get serious about achieving some goals. It's tough to stay on track for an entire month, when there are so many things to tempt and distract. I hope your April goes much better than your March. I look forward to reading the April report, because I know you're going to do amazing.

Cheers,
Sandra

I sorry you feel you've had a set back. I have them too. It sounds like you had a terrible month. The important thing is to stick with it, forget about the past and focus on the future.

Here's your kick in the butt- it's a Cathe line from butts and gutts:

Close your eyes and picture the body you want and go for it. You gotta earn it.

Hi Heather!

I'm going to weigh and measure tomorrow. I started Weight Watchers on January 2, so I wanted to track my progress on April 2 (I usually weigh in on Mondays anyway).

I'm sorry you had a tough month. I'm learning that the journey to new personhood sometimes has a few bumps and potholes. I hit a wall the first two weeks of February, then bounced back again. I can see you will bounce back, too.

I had to LOL at your description of the Gym Styles. Those were recent purchases for me and I just completed the second week of the December '06 rotation. The GS upper body workouts had a significant dread factor, but after doing them all for the second time, I'm already feeling much stronger and more confident.

I also feel you on the anti-depressant factor of Cathe's workouts. I tend to suffer from seasonal depression (living in the dark Midwest and all) and my workouts this winter were great for keeping the blues at bay.

So anyway, I'll post to this thread tomorrow. Hang in there - you're a great inspiration to a lot of folks here! :)

As always Heather, beautifully written. I am so sorry that you had a tough month. I commend you for not giving up though. Hang in there.

Lea

I'm just peeking my head in here and wanted to comment that my goal for the Cathe calendar was different then the rest of you, I didn't take measurements, BUT I had a workout sticker on all the days, but four!! I'm pretty excited about that, I was working on consistancy.

Oh and I lost two pounds (just went and checked that out, too)

Have a great day!
Marcia.
