Cathe - Balance Board versus Xerdisc

NY25

Cathlete
Cathe - I have rather weak knees and was considering getting either a balance board or a Xerdisc. I used a balance board in PT, but the Xerdisc is also an option (could use it for lunges maybe?). In your expert opinion, what might you recommend? Which do you find to have more practical applications? Comments? Thanks!

Hi NY25! Since you have been through PT, I would honestly ask your PT which he/she prefers you to have. They both share benefits and both are used in PT for specific rehab exercises. If you are not buying it at all for rehab then I am partial to the balance disc (vs board) as I think you can get a wider variety of leg exercises done and a bit more effectively. However, if ankle rotation is an important part of your rehab, I think the board does a better job there. Hope this helps.

Awesome! Thanks, Cathe!! That answers my question (and that was the direction I was leaning, as well).
