Cathe and Others - Overweight & Looking for Suggestions!

Good morning!

It has been forever since I've posted here!

To give you some insight where I'm at in my life, here are my stats. I'll be 42 in March, I'm close to 80 lbs. overweight, had a total hyst in 2005, and just rejoined Weight Watchers over a week ago. Right now I'm working long hours at work, but that should be ending in a week or so. I'm no dummy to fitness, and as a matter of fact, have quite a few home workouts (Cathe and many others). I do workouts periodically, but have strayed away from Cathe over the past couple of years, sad to say!! I am more than ready to get my life back on track and lose the weight for MANY reasons. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what workouts /rotations that will deliver the results as I'm losing? I'm talking in terms of body reshaping. I know all will with consistency, but just wondering because of my age, etc. if weights are more a focus than cardio or vice versa. I realize a combo of both is ultimate, but looking for any and all suggestions on what got you in the best shape.

Thanks!

Since you invited "others" to chime in...:)

It sounds like you know what needs to be done in terms of eating right and exercise. You do need both cardio and weights. I have found that 3 days of cardio and 3 days of weights works well for me. I take a day off and every 2 months or so take a whole week off! The weights will vary. When I first started I did circuit workouts and full- body (Cathe's cardio and weights, bootcamp, muscle endurance, pyramids, etc.) I now shake it up with heavy weights (4DS, GS) still like my full body and still get my 3 days of cardio. Don't forget that although weight work is absolutely necesary for weight loss and overall fitness, it is the cardio that will train your heart. HTH and am sure you will get other insights. Good luck :)
