Hi, Cathe . I'm hoping you will expand on a statement you made in response to a thread earlier this week ("Reached target weight, but still have spare tire."). You said:
"...But I do agree that adding a day or two of weight training would be beneficial (split routines of course). ..."
My question is: Are split workouts better than total body workouts?
The reason I ask is because I finally stabilized my weight (after battling it for almost 3 decades), just to enter menopause and find everything shifting, mostly to my waist. I am trying to find the best way to work out and have tried previous suggestions you made to shake up my routine - but nothing is working.
I will admit I only exercise 5 days a week but I do get in 3 cardio and 3 weight workouts. I eat clean. But I feel like I'm beating my head up against a brick wall. Hopefully if I can find the "right mix" then things will be less inclined to look so dim, lol. I've been alternating the type of weights I do (i.e total body and body parts) plus I try to get one kickbox and two step (or one step, one floor) cardio each week.
Also, if you get a chance to respond, is there a general guideline I can use to adapt your rotations to a 5 day week?
Thanks, Cathe!
