carpet skates

you're welcome. I'm purchasing my system this month and I read all the problems with the paper plates and just wanted to void this. Plus I think my niece's would love them too

I actually have these, and would not recommend them.
They lie flat to your foot, making the foot one stiff piece, which doesn't work for many moves.
They also have texture that looks like 'gills' at the front of the 'skate,' which act like brakes so you only move in one direction (sliding forward works well, moving the leg backwards puts on the breaks).

I would rather recommend Gliding Discs.

Thanks for the info. This saves me time and money. I did go to sherwin-williams today and found some "EZ moves II". (large furniture movers) for carpet 24.09 for (4) and 19.99 (4) for hardwood floors. And if these do not work. I will just give in an buy the gliding discs. my dh wants to do STS also. So i'm trying to find the cheapest way to do this. He really likes the website for STS and the break down of each dvd. thanks again.....

Just wondering: can you just cut the strap on your heel and use the remaning one across the foot? Or just cut the straps off? But thats kind of expense to do... OH just a thought thanks again

I don't think it would be worth the effort (its an extremely hard and unflexibble plastic). And it probably wouldn't work very well either, because there is still the 'braking'' problem. It would be cheaper to try cutting one side down on a frisbee.
