Hi Dutchie! Had a great time. So good to run that far without much achilles pain. I felt it a bit at 5 miles then again at 11 miles. But not at all severe...ran 3-11 with my sister, and when she started to walk a hill I was leary of stopping to walk, not sure if I could get running again! I don't know my official time yet, a little over 2 hours like I expected. So, how did your run go????.......Carole
Running a 1/2 marathon is awesome. And it must be a great feeling to run without to much achilles pain.
I felt quite disappointed after my run. I knew I could do it faster than the one two weeks ago. I ran with my running buddy again. The first 2K we ran in my pace: about 6min per K. And I was doing great. But then my friend said we were going way to fast (she was gasping for air) and wanted to slow down. With 2K to go she started talking about stopping and walking. I had to really encourage her to keep going. In the end we finished in a little more than 36min. Don't know the official time yet. I felt so disappointed afterwards.
As a step up to the 10K I am running a 7K race on 23 May. And I will run on my own... Got 3 weeks to get ready.
Thanks Dutchie. I am sorry you are disappointed with your time. As I've done countless races I know this does happen. You still did very well! I have also run with different buddies and as fitness levels change and you have "good" and "bad" race days, sometimes the answer is to run alone. And see, you already have a new goal for May 23...don't even worry about the last one...good luck training!......Carole
