CardioFusion for a Cathe newbie?

Hello all! I'm hoping for a little advice from some of the exercise experts here. I usually run for my workouts, but I bought the Cardio Fusion DVD so I could still exercise in winter weather and because I'd read such good things about Cathe. I don't have much step experience, but I do have a dance background (clogging...just in case anyone is familiar), so I wasn't too worried about the choreography. Yesterday I popped in the DVD, sailed through the warm-up, but then ran into a wall with the first combo and had to stop out of frustration and time constraints. I guess I was naive going into it!
So I'm wondering if anyone else used Cardio Fusion before any other Cathe DVDs, or if that's an unreasonable place to start? How do people usually go about learning these kinds of routines, and how does the choreography in the Cardio Fusion workouts compare with the routines in Cathe's other workouts? I really want to make this DVD work for me (since it was kind of an investment), so any advice would be so appreciated! Thanks!

Cardio Fusion would be a hard one to start with. All the step parts are from other videos in is completed form. There is no break down in Cardio Fusion. If you had all of the other new workouts Drill Max, Low Impact Circuit, Body Max 2 it would be easier to learn because she teaches each part then puts them all together. In Cardio Fusion it is the finished step routine. I hope that makes sense. I didn't do Cardio Fusion until I had done the other new workouts. I would just try to learn one part at a time. Once you get them down it is an awesome workout.

Hang on for the ride sweetie!!:)
This is a tough workout period. I do jumping jacks or hop on my spin bike during the segments that I do not get. Then the next workout I get better and better. Don't give up!!:)

I would have quit in frustration if my intro to Cathe was Cardio Fusion. My first DVD was Cardio Hits, which has 3 step workouts (very well cued and broken down, BTW) and features most of Cathe's signature moves.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement, everyone. I think I'll wait until I have a free afternoon and spend some quality time with pause button of the remote control! Or maybe investing in a more introductory DVD would be worth it, after all.

The first combo---the 'finished combo' from BMax2, is the hardest, IMO, because it doesn't break things down at all. I previewed this workout before doing BMax2, and what wondering 'what the (#@!#$&!' But it all comes into place once you've done Bmax2. Since you don't have that workout, I suggest doing the Cardio Fusion workout first by skipping over that first section, and maybe working on it separately from the rest of the workout. Or try some of the premixes as well.

I bought Cardio Fusion before BM 2 Drill Max etc... and I had trouble with that first combo too. I just took my time remote control in hand and rewound rewound until I got it. I was so proud when I got all the moves down!!! Now I have no problem and fly through it just be patient and repeat repeat. You will get it!!! Good luck!!!

It's really good to hear that others have worked through this DVD and gotten it down. Now I'm looking forward to this weekend so I can give it another shot! Thanks everyone!
