CARDIO......

Cathlete
Yes, it is me again, I am back with a vengance ( a bit like eating too many brussel sprouts ! :-tired), and am wondering about the benefits of cardio ? Well, I have to admit I pretty much know the benefits of cardio, like losing weight, burning up unwanted fat, strengthing the heart and lungs - would building stamina fall under cardio too ? :-hmmm

The reason why I am asking all these silly questions is that I find it hard to plan exercise rotations, so I figure if I ask everyone else's opinions on the various terminology, I will be able to plan better.

I also (secretly) wish SNM would put in big letters, with the description of each of Cathe's vids, what the video is, whether it be Endurance, Cardio, or strength.

I know silly questions, but I gave birth to my brain when I delivered my third child , and I find it hard to get my brain cells around certain things.

Yours, being very silly,

Anna :)

Anna..

Cardio is very important so that you can feel strong throughout your day, everyday. You can break out in a hustle and not even get slightly winded. Watch some of your sedentary friends and coworkers and you will get an idea of what NOT doing cardio can do for you. For me, this is the best motivation I can get!!
Don't worry too much about what is stength, what is endurance and what is cardio. You have probably figured out the cardio part, but pretty much its like this: the slower the lifting..most likely you have a strength routine...the faster....an endurance routine. S&H is the ULTIMATE in strength training..I LOVE IT!! For me, CTX upper body is pure torture. Feels like I am just whippin' those weights around everywhere. But I still do it sometimes just so my body doesn't get too comfy. Cathe doesn't have too many strength tapes, so that narrows it down too.

Hey, when you can do IMAX no mods, you are not only cardiovascularly strong but very muscularly strong as well..

Good Luck!!

Thanks Janice,

You are right, Cardio is very important, and one way in which I am going to burn fat, and move with more agility, too.
And I have to agree with what you have said about Imax, especially those tuck jumps at the end of Imax 1.

Thanks

Anna :)
