What a terrific community!!! How lucky you are to have a safe place to share your thoughts, suggestions, and frustrations.

If I may share....I've been a Pilates devotee for years and am now looking to expand my horizons; hence, my interest in Cathe's videos.

I am looking for a thorough cardio workout that's 'not' too advanced or dancy. Cathe offers so many step workouts, I'm not sure where to begin.

I look forward to your suggestions...thank you!!!

BTW: I already picked up MIS, I LOVE strength training.

Hi Deborah. Usually the most people here recommend starting with Cathe's earliest videos...like Mega Step Blast. I would recommend doing that also. If you don't want to go back that far, I think the Wedding Video is a GREAT workout! Very doable, and it gets your heart rate going. Plus, it has a weight workout on it...two workouts for the price of one! That's my input....I know others will have some input also. :)

Hi Deborah,
I would recommend starting with the Wedding Video or Step Heat or Step Max if you want to step; Cardio Kicks if you don't! (Or both of course...what the heck, all 4! LOL)
Actually, once you learn Cathe's style, it's not that difficult to learn any of her workouts...and that's coming from a major klutz!
Also, if you want a really intense workout, Interval Max is super challenging, but very simple choreography.
If you like weight training, you have come to the right place for sure! MIS was my first Cathe too...you won't believe how quickly you will see major results. I would recommend each & every weight workout to you, they're all great.
So glad you've joined in the forum...good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Deborah,

My first Cathe tape was Body Max and I recommend it for your first Cathe video. I love BM to this day because it has step that is not too dancy, circuits for legs using weights, and an upper body strength workout. This is a 90-minute tape and it is a good value for the money. You can do it all at once, or break it up into 2 or 3 days.

Also, I suggest you get some heavier dumbbells. You will outgrow those 8s before you know it if you are consistent with Cathe weight training!

Good luck!

From your post, I'm not sure what step or cardio experience you already have. You say you want something not too advanced--Cathe may not be the place to sart... Even her earlier videos are quite advanced. I wouldn't want you to get discouraged (although you can modify-do what you can until you have progressed to doing a little more).
If you are already doing cardio workouts, then disregard what I've said. You may be ready to take it up to Cathe's level. If not, check out videofitness.com or collagevideo.com for tons of suggestions on where to sart!
Good luck!

Ladies, thank you for the suggestions. Along with Pilates I've been a long distance runner for many years. Due to some health issues, I've had to give up the running. Talk about withdrawal...whaaaaaaaaaa.

I have to stay away from extensive bouncing and jumping; hence, my quandry.

Again, thank you for taking the time to respond. And to all of you, Happy Mother's Day!!
