Cardio or weights when not feeling well?

I'm feeling a bit under the weather yesterday and today. Yesterday I took a rest day. Today I feel like doing something light & I need opinions on what you all think is better cardio or weights. I'm on the fence.

Thanks

Linda

I find weight training very strenuous. If I decide to weight train at all, I usually go very light with higher reps. I won't train to exhaustion. Most of the time, if I am not feeling well, I usually do a really low impact step routine or a cardio machine at the gym. That is just me, so do whatever feels good to you. Sometimes taking some time off is better.

i am with alicia. something with very light weight for higher reps. depending on how you feel you might try some very light cardio like basic step. i usually do pilates or take a day off. just depends on what is going on in your life, maybe its good to take a rest day and enjoy a walk in the fresh air.

Low intensity cardio (NO IMAX's, LOL! In fact, I'd go towards a non-Cathe workout in this case, unless you have her LIS and omit the blasts, for example). SOmething that will get you moving a break a sweat, but won't be an excessive stress on your body (which may still be in recovery).

I lift lighter weights and do more reps. The cardio gets my stomach more upset if it's the flu and if it's a cold I can't breath right. I also recommend the walk, it feels like you got exercise but you aren't completely wiped out afterward. Hope you feel better soon! Vicky

I find that doing light weights is less hard on me than cardio when I'm feeling sick. But if the cardio is pretty light, like a brisk walk for 30 min. or so, then it doesn't bother me. Not a lot of jumping around is better, well for me, when I'm sick. Thought I'd pass that along! Hope you feel better soon Linda! Hugs!:D ;)
