Cardio factor in L &G?

Hey all--quick question.

I don't have a heart rate monitor yet, and I've been wondering about the calorie burn in some of Cathe's weight DVD's. It seems to me that in L&G and ME I get a bit of a cardio workout while I'm doing them because of the power moves or leg presses. Wouldn't this mean that I'm burning more than the typical 5 cal. per minute expected in a weight workout (especially L&G)? I'm just curious since I'm using formulas to estimate how much I'm burning.

Yes leg press can be considered a cardio move. My PT used that to increase my heart rate when I was doing circuit training. Still though I don't think there enough (what in the world?:+ ) for it to really drastically change the amount of calories you are burning. There might be a small increase, but the heart probably isn't elavated long enough.

Legs and Glutes surprised me. I burned about 2/3 of the calories that I would with Rhythmic step or IMax 2. That's a pretty serious calorie burn for a weight workout. ME, I didn't burn as much because of the upper body weight work.
