Cardio Endurance

Hi Cathe,
I do hope the doctors can find a solution for you! Feel better!

I had a question about something you said when you were ready to go earlier. You said it normally takes you 2 weeks to get your endurance back. Is there anything you do specific to work on your endurance, or do you just workout as long as you can and it slowly increases itself. I'd been sick a while back, and still notice that I can't do cardio as long as I used to. How should I go about increasing the time I spend doing it in one session.

I would also love to hear the answer to this. I got the flu pretty bad about a month ago, and it seems like I still can't get back into the groove of things.

~Thanks,
Jennifer

Obviously not Cathe, but I'll share my experience.
I was sick for 4 weeks in Feb/Mar. When I was trying to get my endurance back I did 3 endurance workouts(like Stepworks, PowerMax, MIC, etc.) plus a total body weight workout and a cardio/wt workout - per week - taking many breaks, of course, at the beginning. I got most of my endurance back by the end of the second week. By the end of week 3 or beginning of week 4 I had it back.

Did you finish each video taking as many breaks as needed or did you go for as long as you could and end early?

Hi Christi! I usually do the normal workouts I typically would and go lighter and take breaks as needed. Sometimes, even after doing all of those modifications, I still don't finish the whole workout that day. It eventually comes with time. But if I am feeling especially wiped out, like after a flu, I just start with walking the first day back. Good Luck and glad you are feeling better!
