Cardio Coach Volume 8 - another rave review

Okay, I couldn't resist. I love this workout, so I wanted to share. And also... for those of you who are interested in non-weighted leg workouts, let me tell you, this is one for sure! Especially on an elliptical! Okay, here's what I have to say:

Cardio Coach Volume 8 is nothing short of awesome! It was like Coach Sean came to my home, evaluated how I worked out, and tailored this volume specifically for me. The readings on my elliptical were off the charts.

The most difficult thing about any Cardio Coach workout for me has always been the sprints. I do not have a single “fast” gene in my body, so I always need more recovery time after the sprints. I’m far more suited to a massive hill climb… and Volume 8 is nothing but a bunch of hills. I loved it! I’ve never worked under resistance for that long, and it pushed me to the max, in a wonderful way.

At first I thought the music was going to be too slow, but it allowed me to settle into the tempo of each challenge and really get to work. Who would have thought I could keep a Level 4 exertion for the full 90 seconds in Challenge 1? I was scaling a steep cliff, using both hands and feet, and let me tell you, when I reached the peak, I spiked that flag right into the ground in triumph!

During the treks in Challenge 2, I was actually able to obtain that state of mind I used to get when I used to run… but trust me, I was working a lot harder on Challenge 2 than I ever did when I ran. I loved the long treks. They really made my leg muscles burn – quads, hamstrings and glutes!

I was pretty worn out by the end of it, but there was no way I was going to miss Challenge 3. It was sheer grit and determination. And oh wow, did I feel great when it was done! My legs were wobbling, and sweat was pouring off me as if somebody had sprayed me with a hose.

I really think this workout is going to open new doors in my fitness training, because it offers me a way to push beyond my endurance boundaries without high-speed or high-impact work. Aside from the fact that I’m slow as molasses, I have to face the fact that the high-speed and high-impact exercise may be off limits for me due to repeat injuries.

I’m ready to do it again. I love this workout.

Shannon,

Great review.

I like what you said about opening new doors in your fitness training. I am glad you found something that can challenge you, but safely.

Cuz,

AWESOME REVIEW!!!

As soon as I did this workout I thought of you! I KNEW you'd love it! I'm so darned happy that you found a workout that will give you the intensity you crave without causing further injury to your leg. :* :* :*

I know I'm a bit late to this party, but I just did it for the first time today. I love Sean!! It was different than any of the other ones I have done. I felt it was certainly more endurance based with the hills as opposed to sprints, but I was dripping with sweat at the end and had 6.5 miles under my belt on the elliptical. Sean certainly knows how to make a workout fly by. And I loved the music!

My only disappointment would be that with the CD's there are no CD cases with the cool pics of Sean. :-( I would be willing to pay an extra couple of bucks for the CD's like the first 6 of them.
