Cardio Coach questions....

Help !

I am SO not an electronics person !!

I have all of the cc workouts and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
I have always played the workouts off the disc, but recently moved the dvd player out of my workout room, so the plan was to down load them onto my Sansa.
WELL, I am clueless, so DH did it for me.
My first problem is that we dont' know how to put them in a separate folder so I'll be listening to music and time for the next song to come on and it's SEAN telling me it's time to tackle the next hill !!
I want the workouts separate from my music. Is that doable ??

The next problem is that they didn't down load in order. It SHOWS them in order, but when they play, it might start with a challenge, then the warm up, then a steady state, and cool down, etc....
Anyone know how to fix that ???

I'll end with a cool story. DH went to the dr yesterday & I went with him.
We were talking exercise (hubby needs to lose weight) and the dr. admitted that he has a TM that just sits all the time, neither he or his wife ever use it. So I told him to go to cardiocoach.com and he wouldnt' be bored on the TM anymore . ;)
and he went and got paper and pencil and wrote it down !!! :D
Maybe one more convert is coming!! :p

Thanks for any help you can give. I'm very frustrated with this.

Becky - I am pretty much clueless as well. I use an iPod and on iTunes, I had to go in and put everything in order. It would look to be but every column had to be named just right b/c Sean was not consistent in naming his files. That made them go in order for me. Now, if they are all in order on whatever you are using on the computer, then I don't know what to tell you. Also, if you are using a shuffle feature, I don't think you can avoid hearing the *time to climb some hills* call! Again, not positive on this. You can, however, make folders so you could put all of your workout music into a folder and just listen to the folder. I am lazy about figuring this stuff out so I hit shuffle when I want music and if Coach Sean comes on, as much as I love hearing him, I will just skip to the next song (and I admit to more than once just listening to him anyway and even going ahead and doing the challenge!)

Shana,

:pLOL !!!:D I do the same thing. When Sean comes on I skip and keep skipping until it's not him anymore (sometimes he comes on 2 or 3 times in a row) and sometimes I actually DO the challenge! ha

BUT , if I am walking or on the bike, I have my Sansa in an arm band, so it's very inconvienent to keep taking it out to skip.
That's one of my reasons for wanting to get this all figured out.

I'm afraid too that an Ipod and a Sansa might be different, with set ups and all that. Although I don't really know that for sure.

Thanks,
Becky

Becky, I have NO CLUE about how to organize files/folders in a Sansa. I have an iPod and I've never had a problem with it. Shana is right, Sean has been inconsistent in naming his tracks, but each track is numbered and I've never had to rename them. If the tracks download out of order in iTunes, there's a little arrow thingy you can click on that will put them in order.

With my iPod, and using iTunes, if I want to use the shuffle feature, I click on the "Controls" tab, turn on the shuffle, and then I can select the songs I want to include in the shuffle mix. Surely you can do that with the Sansa, too. I HTH! Good luck!! :)

Becky,

As far as I know, the Sansa shows up as a hard disk when you connect it to the PC and you can access it from Windows Explorer (presuming your PC does Windows).

If so, an easy way to achieve this is to use Windows Explorer to access the Sansa, after you connect it to the PC, as if it were a hard drive. Then, create new Folders in the Sansa for each Cardio Coach volume (just as you would on the PC's C: or other drive) Drag and drop the tracks of each Cardio Coach volume into its respective folder. If when you mplay from the Sansa, they dont play in the right order, then connect the Sansa again to the PC. Use Windows Explorer to go back to each Cardio Coach folder and rename each track to start with a preceeding number. So Warmup should be renamed to start with 1, First Challege with 2, next Recovery with 3 and so on. Hope that made sense.

If Sansa provides a program to sync music then you you can achieve the same thing from the program too, but you will need to read the Help to find out how.

Thanks for everyone's help. Unfortunately it's still not working.

Vrinda, My dh renamed the tracks and it is still playing out of sequence.
Is there any way it's a problem with my Sansa ??

I have an older ipod nano. I am thinking that maybe I should just put all my CC workouts onto that and delete them from the Sansa.
Will that be easier ?? I have all the discs.....

thanks again,

Becky

Becky, I have all my CC workouts on an iPod Nano and I love it. I've never had a problem of any kind with it. I don't know anything about the Sansa. Maybe you could post a thread requesting help with your Sansa. I'm sure there must be some Sansa users on this forum and maybe that would get their attention. Good luck!!

ETA that I know of some people who use 2 different MP3 players -- one for their music and one for their workouts. I don't have much music on mine so that's never been an issue for me.

Becky,

There should be a way to get it to work with Sansa. I am sorry that did not work. I used to have a Sansa before and I have done it, except I dont remember how and it was a long time ago.

I cant think of what else to try so I hope a Sansa user will chime in.

Until then, the iPod could be the solution.
