CARDIO BLAST - FIT TV

Cathe,

Would like to know the type of weight bar and weight plates needed to participate in your Cardio Blast program on Fit TV. I especially like the quick release feature that I noticed when you change weights. Would be helpful to have a list of equipment needed to participate in your TV workouts. I checked on-line and couldn't find anything on Fit TV/Discovery. I tuned in for the first time this and really enjoyed the program!!!

Thank you,

Pweetie

Not Cathe but I think I can help.

The barbell set in both the intensity and body blast workouts is the Troy Lite barbell set. It consists of a 5 lb. bar and can hold up to 80 lbs. in weight. I believe the set comes with the bar, 40 lbs. in weights, and two spring clips. It's available at either www.fitness1st.com or www.fwonline.com. It costs about $50 and with shipping would probably come to about $80.

The dumbbells are all regular metal hex bells and can be purchased at most sporting goods stores.

Cathe uses the Super Step in the strength training workouts, although a regular club length step with a few extra risers workouts as well. The two online stores above carry the regular club length step and you can purchase extra risers individually to get the proper height. The club step is also used in all step videos. The high step topper (used in Boot Camp and Muscle Endurance) can be purchased here at Cathe's site or from one of the online retailers up above. If you purchase a regular club step, the same risers work for the high step topper so you could just buy the topper or the topper and a couple of extra risers.

Any medicine ball weighing about 6-8 lbs will work. You can purchase stability balls almost anywhere (I got mine at Target). Just make sure that you get a burst resistant ball. Make sure you buy the right size ball. If you're 5'3" and under, you'll want 55 cm, 5'4" to 6'0" 65 cm, over 6'0", 75 cm. Again, the retailers I mentioned above have all this stuff.

HTH,

Sabine,

Thanks soooooo much for the timely info. I am currently attending Curves, but feel I need to intensify my workout and, after seeing Cardio Blast, felt this could be a good option. I will check out the equipment and get busy.

Thanks again...

Pweetie

I ordered the Bar set from fitness1st.com and the total came to 67.00 to the Chicagoland area. It is well worth it. Get the Troy Lite for 49.00. I just recently purchased the 10 lb pair and it was 18.50. Good deal.
