In North Jersey you will have no problems finding cast iron dumbells. Check under "Exercise Equipment" in the yellow pages.

I bought mine at Dicks Sporting Goods - don't know whether there are any Dicks in Northern Jersey. I live in the Philly area so that's not too far from you I guess. They have an excellent selection of cast iron weights. Good luck.

Another thing you can do while you're still searching is to use 1 to 2# ankle wieghts on your wrists in addition to the dumbell to simulate the heavier poundage. I do this to get 12.5's and 17.5's. It works to get me past that in between stage.
