Can you split a workout in a rotation?

I want to use one of Cathe's old rotations (Aug 04) have a question. When Cathe has "Legs & Glutes, plus 20 min run", does the run have to be immediately after L&G or can it be later in the day? I realize that by doing it immediately after, I'll probably minimize DOMS plus I'll be building on what I've just completed, but I don't always have the time to do a long workout in the morning. And I know that if I put it off until later in the day, the workout will probably not happen.

Would it be okay to split the workout - do L&G in the am and do the run in the pm? Or, since my goal is lower body sculpting and fat loss, will I lose a lot of the benefit by splitting the workout?

In the past, Cathe has said that splitting the workout is better than skipping the second part, but doing them together will get you the best results. You might want to do a search on the Ask Cathe forum for more details.

I can't imagine that you would lose all the benefits by splitting them, since you will have, in fact, done them both, but you will probably lose some of the endurance benefits.

Good luck!
