Can you see results working each body part 1x/week?

Cathe,

I was recently introduced to your DVD's after giving birth to my twins 9 months ago. I needed to start working out at home and your Step DVD's really helped! I am now back into all my pre-pregnancy clothes, with many of them even being too big!

I also do weights at home and have always wondered what the most effective split routine is. Can you see good results if you work each body part once per week but hit it really hard? Or do you believe you have to hit each body part 2x/week? Right now, I can dedicate 4 days per week (occasionally 5) to working out and I need to do each workout within a 60-80 minute time frame (this is weights and cardio).

I am just trying to find a way to make sure I fit in my cardio and weights. Right now, my goal is to continue to burn fat and build a little more muscle. I am 5'8" and weigh about 143 and wear a 6-8.

Any suggestions? Really looking forward to your response :)

Are these the girls in Cathe's DVD's? I would love to hear from more people that use this approach.

I really hope CAthe responds to this one!

Ok, I feel a bit stupid, but what's a "bump"?

Hi Cass! Congratulations on TWINS!!!! Wowee, you are busy, that's for sure :)

Oh you definitely can get excellent results hitting each muscle group just one time per week. I do this myself many times too.

Not sure which DVD's of mine you have to get the job done but here are two routines. One with my DVD's and another without.

Routine One...With my DVD's:

Mon: Gym Style Back, Biceps, Shoulders plus 20 minutes light run on treadmill (total approx 80 minutes)

Tues: off

Wed: Gym Style Legs...plus 10 minutes abs from Ab Hits (total approx 70 minutes)

Thurs: off

Fri: Gym Style Chest and Triceps plus 30 minutes running (total approx 80 minutes)

Sat: 45 minutes step aerobics plus 10 minutes abs from Ab Hits (approx 55 minutes)

Sun: Do stretch or cardio workout (or a bit of both) if you are able today

Routine Two...without my DVD's

Mon: Work legs with squats and lunges and calf raises (about 25 minutes) then do 10 minute of ab workout and go for a 40 minute light run

Tues: Off

Wed: Work Chest and Triceps (about 45 minutes) add on a 10 minute ab workout and a 20 minute slightly inclined walk on a treadmill.

Thurs: Off

Fri: Work Back and biceps (about 45 minutes) add on a 10 minute ab routine and do a step workout for 25 minutes

Sat: Do a shoulder workout (25 minutes) and then a kickbox workout (about 50 minutes).

Sun: Stretch workout

Have fun!

Cathe,

Thanks so much for the reply! I am a huge fan, where previously I was a huge skeptic (of DVD's in general, not yours!). Thanks for the suggestions. I will try both workouts (the one without your DVD's until I my order arrives at my door!).

In the meantime, can you tell me where I can purchase the barbell you use in the Pyramid series (which is most likely the first DVD I will order). Right now, I have dumbells but would like to have the option of using the barbell).

Thanks!
Cass
