Can you do STS w/o turbo tower?

As you all probably know by now, the Turbo Tower is nowhere to be found, which is more than a little irritating! Has anyone ever done STS without the tower and if so, what did you do to make it happen? Thanks so much!

I've done STS 3 times without a Turbo Tower. I am kicking myself for not buying it last year for $65 from Amazon with free shipping!
It is discontinued and hard to find now. There are other towers that will work. There was a discussion here recently about other towers that people were happy with. My first two times I used my husband's old weight bench that has a stand on it. The last time I winged it with nothing, but I'm pretty lucky that I didn't injure myself during Meso 3. You really should have something. Maybe other people will post what they used. Good luck!

Hi there,

You can do STS without a tower, but only if you plan on substituting w/dumbbell's (instead of a barbell) during chest presses and you don't mind using tubing as substitution for pull/chin-ups (or buy a pull/chin-up bar that attaches to a door frame). Cathe show's both modifications. The reason you might need the tower for the chest presses w/the barbell, is for safety reasons. The tower has safety catches for the barbell, which is crucial once you reach a heavy weight. As long as you are willing to do the program with those two modifications, then you are good to go! You'll still get results .

Good luck!

I've been able to complete STS up to Meso 2, Week 3 before it gets too difficult, mainly with the chest presses. I already use the tubing attached to the door for chinups and pull ups, and I'm fine with that. I might just have to keep my weight lower for chest presses. Maybe I'll just do some extra pushups, too ;)

The first time I did STS , I didn't have the Tower. I used bands for pull ups and a weight bench for the chest work. If you are happy using the bands , I would just got an inexpensive weight bench. Mine is very minimal. It has the holder for the barbell and it slants. I got it at either Target or Walmart for under $100.

I've done STS 3 times (and then some) without the tower. I use a weight bench and a pull up bar. Pretty simple. the bench part of my weight bench folds up to save space. The first time I tried STS I had to go out during Meso 3 to get the bench. There's no way I could lie down on the step and push 75lbs over my chest from the down position.
