Find a different mall, a different Santa. The kids won't know the difference. When my kids where of the "Santa sitting" age, I took them to a little strip mall where Santa hung out in a little cottage in the parking lot. (This is California, mind you) You brought your own camera and clicked away. The kids even got a little candy cane out of it.

I can't believe how capitalism has taken over the holiday. Geez.

The mall right by my house will charge you to take pictures with your own camera One dollar per picture, that is crazy. I think a 5x7 is $13. We haven't taken Justin yet. But I always go to a different mall so I can take my own with no charge.

$25 for a Santa pic is nuts!

I don't have kids, but DH and I took our dog Rascal to PetSmart for a Santa photo and for $9 we got two Polaroids with frames and $5 of that was donated to the local Humane Society.

That is insane. My oldest is 5 1/2 and he has only seen a mall Santa 1x. I refuse to pay even $8 to get his pic taken. You can't even take a pic w/your own camera.

This past weekend I took my boys to our local Christmas in the park where everything was free and parents took their own cameras.

Everything is about money anymore. Sad.

But it's not just for one pic, is it? Isn't it for like two 8X10s & then a variety of smaller ones?

My brother, sister & I did this for our parents when we were in college (I won't even tell you how many years ago) & I seem to remember it costing about the same.
