Can only afford to get one DVD at a time.

So far I have the Pure Strength DVD. I'm wondering what I should get next. I've thought about getting CTX. If I do, I don't know how I should put together a routine using only CTX and PS. Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

Hi, cmayes71! CTX is an awsome workout program because it gives you so many options, particularly in DVD format! I really love the strength training on the DVD. I rarely do it one body part at a time as it is intended, but rather, do the total body split which lets you move from part to part in one training session. I also do two body parts per day. I think you could work out some excellent roatations using PS and CTX. In fact, I think, CTX gives the most bang for your buck in that it is both cardio and strength.

Hi, Cmayes71! If you can afford the CTX DVD by all means get it! It's an amazingly multifunctional series, where you can do mix-&-matches for extended cardio, extended strength, or extended cardio + strength sets depending on what your schedule is and what your goals are.

I personally do not do formal rotations like many Forum participants do here, so I suggest you pose another question for "CTX/PS Rotations Suggestions?" and see what you come up with. I'll bet you'll get a ton of helpful suggestions. Or - novel suggestion - just do the CTX series as produced, one complete cardio+strength segment per day, and Leaner Legs on the sixth, and then rest the seventh day, every other week, and on the alternating weeks do one CTX cardio workout and one PS workout per exercise bout, completing at least 5 workout bouts per week. How's that sound?

Good luck, and welcome!

Bobbi and Aquajock said it all: CTX! I like Aquajock's suggestion of just doing the CTX as is. Another rotation I like is the following:
Sat: CTX Step Intervals PS C/S/T
Sun: CTX 10/10/10 PS B/B/A
Mon: PS Strong L/A (standing work only) CTX Chest
Tue: CTX Kickbox, CTX Shoulders & Triceps
Wed: CTX All Step CTX Back & Biceps
Thu: CTX Power Circuit PS Strong L/A (floor work & abs only)
Fri: Rest
This way, you hit each body part twice per week and no workout is longer than 75 minutes. Sometimes, I will use the 10-10-10 warm up and then the step interval cardio on a day I am crunched for time. This only adds up to 26 min. so even if I do a body part and stretch, it is always under an hour! The CTX DVD is so versitile! I include a part of it in every rotation. Have fun!

Thanks for the replies. I think I will save and get CTX. Later on I will get another strength training DVD. Thanks for the rotation suggestion. I will print it out and use it when I get CTX. I really like Cathe. She is an instructor that I can relate to. Her exercises are super tough but I can usually modify if it is too much. I'm more beginner/intermediate.

I just wanted to clarify - on the days where I said CTX Step Intervals and PS C/S/T, I meant just do the cardio portion of the CTX and then the PS. Sorry!
