Can I use weights on consecutive days?

I am wondering if I can use weights on consexutive days even if it's the same body part? Here's what I mean. (keep in mind I'm fairly new to Cathe.) I do a 6 day split, (I think that's the right terminology?? I'm still learning.) M,W,F I do a total body weight workout like Cathe's Muscle Max or Gym Style, and on T,R,S, I do cardio/step only for about 45 mins. I have only been doing Low Max and Cardio Hits on cardio days, but the circuits, (I think that's the right word) with cardio and light weights, look so fun; like Body Max 2. Can I do body max 2 with weights after doing Muscle Max or Gym Style the day before?

I am so challenged/overwhelmed by all the "rotation" options. I know Im new and I need to try new stuff and try all these new posted rotation ideas (so fun, but it's hard to know where to start. I've done Cathe's Beginner rotation and I'm beyond that, but only own low max, cardio hits, core max, muscle max, and Gym Style Series.

Thanks to anyone ou there who can answer my question of how to incorporate circuits, and can they be done on days right after heavy lifting.

Hi there!

As far as strength workouts go, you should never work the same body part two days in a row. If you do the muscle would not be able to heal and that is what builds muscle. If you want to use a circuit type workout it is best if you use them on strength days as if they were a weight only workout. You'll get extra cardio in that way which isn't a bad thing. You can also use premixes to your advantage and split it into "cardio and upper body weights" and "cardio and lower body weights only" workout That way you could do strength workouts in between without using muscles you had used the previous day.
Here's an example of both:

Mon: LowMax
Tue:LIC
Wed: Step Works
Thur: Body Max 2
Fri: Power Max
Sat: Drill Max

OR

Mon: Body Max 2
Tue: Step Fit
Wed: DrillMax "Cardio & All Upper Body" Premix
Thur: GS Legs
Fri: Drill Max "Cardio Leg Blast" Premix
Sat: LIC "Upper Body Circuit" Premix

I know you don't have all of these DVD's but it's just to show you how circuits can work into your workouts.

Hope that helps,

Nicole
