I am just bursting right now and have already gone on & on to my DH, but wanted to share with you all. As most of you know from all my whining this past year about my 11-month knee/hamstring injury, today is the very first day that I truly felt I was back to my normal intensity and range! It felt soooo good that even though I finished doing K,P&C and the Power drills from CK a couple hours ago, I am still smiling with happiness. I know those that don't exercise to the wonderful, advanced workouts we do cannot fully understand where I am coming from. I just had to share. BTW, K,P & C was such a FUN workout today and it even seemed better this go-round then when I did it about a year ago. FUN, FUN! Okay, I'll quit now. I just couldn't keep quiet! THANK YOU ALL for your encouragement and kind words that helped me make it thru such a trying time. I'M BACK & IT FEELS SOOOOO GOOD! :7

I hesitantly clicked on the post anyway;-) .

Seriously, that is really great news! So glad you are back in full swing and "workin' it" like you did pre injury. You are ready for Hardcore!!

I am soooo happy for you Debbie. I know how trying to get back where you were can be. It sounds like you are finally back on track:D .

Debbie, that is just fantastic. You know we can all relate, even if we've never experienced that kind of injury. The thought of not being able to work out the way you're used to for so long must be SO frustrating. I can't tell you how happy I am for you.:) :) :)

Debbie:

Yeah, we understand you girl!!!! Sounds like you are definitely DANCING, not sitting it out anymore!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

I'm real happy for ya', that endorphin high is such a great thing, it could keep you smilin' for days ;-) ;-) ;-)

Glad to hear you are BACK WITH A VENGEANCE! :7 ;) :)

Wonderful Debbie! I know how you feel! A few years ago I had foot surgery and it was months before I could do a step workout and I remember how I felt the first time "back" with my Cathe step workouts!

I so happy for you and appreciate your feelings of JOY!!! :) :)

Mom! I'm so happy for you!! :7 :7 :7

I know how you feel too...I had an injury that kept me from almost any workout for months, & then months more of a "select few" with modifications. What a pain that is!

Watch out world...Debbie's back & swinging!

Love,
Ruth:) :) :)

That is really great news!!! Your perserverance has finally paid off. Can you share with us how you worked through this injury in the event one of us is facing a similar situation in the future. Once again, congrats. This was not something easy to deal with. Many would have just given up.

You guys are the ABSOLUTE BEST! Thanks for all your understanding and letting me shout out to you! Cathy, it was just trial and error along the way. (A looong way! Ha!) I basically just did what I could do without compromising my knee. I had to pretty much do away with ANY LB strength-work when I first hurt it, other then maybe some lying floor work without ankle weights. Lunges, squats, plies, leg presses, table work and even the new "sculpt 7" move was out or anything that caused a bend in the knee. I had to "walk" thru my Hi/Lo classes which was NOT FUN! Thankfully, my students are the best and fully understood. The only problem at my classes was...if I am working low level, they tend to follow me, even though they know how to work higher. (The stinkers~I think they enjoyed this lil' vacation! J/K!) I was able to do UB work and also ABS. Planks/pikes/roll-ins on the ball were out because it put too much pressure on my knee. That was very discouraging because I was seeing excellent results from ball Ab work. I was determined not to give up and just do what I could do. My DH told me at the beginning it might take me a year til I could do what I normally do. I just looked at him like he was crazy and thought NO waaaay! In all my 24 years of teaching/exercising, I have never had an injury like this, but I think one of the BEST motivators was coming here and reading and wanting to do it sooo bad that I stayed focused on just doing what I could DO til I was healed. Thank heavens for the workout blender. It was a blessing to be able to pick and choose what I COULD do. Again, thank you all for your kind words. They mean so much!

Debbie.....Thanks so much for sharing with us!!! I'm bursting with happiness for you and want to say that your story can BLESS the socks off many others who are working through injury. I hurt my knee the other day and was so incredibly irritable because I couldn't get my precious cardio day in.....then I thought of you. You have plugged away and patiently waited for this day to come and you deserve all the happy hugs coming your way!! Keep us posted as to your continued progress girl!!
