Can I do Bootcamp and then a weight workout the next day?

Under the August Bootcamp rotation I see Cathe posted this for one week:

Mon: Three mile run plus Muscle Max plus PLB stability ball segment only ("You start off thinking hey, this is easy and then hello!" )

Tues: Imax 3 plus 200 walking lunges and 200 sit ups (this is tough stuff)

Wed: Muscle Endurance plus 15 minutes of Ab Hits (your not just sitting there reading this are you?)

Thurs: Boot Camp plus Intensity drills from Kick Max ("You can do anything for a minute.")

Fri: Gym Style Legs and run 3 miles (keep movin and groovin)

Sat: Double Header....Gym Style Chest/Tri..AND ...Gym Style Back, Shoulders, Biceps... ("It's all about how you spend your time under tension")

Sun: At Ease and Fall Out!

********************************************************************

What I want to do for each week is alternate:

2 days Bootcamp

1 day Gym Style Legs

1 day upper body pyramid

1 day weight machine at the gym for legs

Now my week has to be fitted in day by day as I have 2 young children and my DH is a full time medical student, alas I don't have a lot of time to figure out what day I do what. The only thing I can do is make sure I don't do BC two days in a row. I really want to kill my thighs right now, so that is the emphasis.

Would it be ok to do this for 4-8 weeks or is this over training (that is if I can actually get the workouts in! ;) )

the weight work is so light in Bootcamp, that you can certainly lift the following day as long as you are in condition to do so. If however you feel any soreness in the area you intend to train, you should probably hold off.

Hope this helps...

I would probably sub in a cardio workout for one of your Boot Camp days. Do you have LowMax? It's a leg fryer!

I wouldn't do weights the day after Bootcamp, but I want to build muscle, and it doesn't make sense to me not to go as heavy as I can when I do use weights (like in BC) or to not give the muscles enough rest for growth and repair (by doing BC followed by a weight workout). I would put either a cardio workout, or a core workout (abs can be worked more often than other muscle groups because they are endurance muslces, like calves), or a stretch workout, or a rest day.
