Can brass be "touched up?"

I googled it but didn't find anything. My next web stop is HGTV.com.

So the story is I got this pretty nice brass daybed off Craig's List (involved a trip to Jersey City, where the ditzy young girl hadn't even taken the fram apart leaving all the work for me, so the $50 price wasn't quite the bargain I'd thought ). It has a few nicks & scratches on it. I know Brasso & some steel wool will get rid of any dirt & give it a nice shine, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if brass touch up paint (kind of like the little bottles you get w/a new car), or something of the like, exists?

RE: Can brass be

Brass can't be exactly "touched" up, and I don't know of any product you could buy to paint the bed. But, you can take the pieces to a metal plating place and have the pieces dipped. I bought an old house, and all the door knobs were brass that were only brass plated. I tried the steel wool and Brasso routine, only to find that I steel wooled all the brass that was left off the doorknobs completely.

I took all the door knobs into a plating place and they did an absolutely beautiful job - and for a price that I thought was really great. Of course, I wouldn't know how much it would be to have a bed dipped, but it might be worth looking into.

Good Luck!
