Cathlete
is ctx a strength or endurance workout and is it worth buying?
I have read alot about leaner legs and would like to try it.I have the pure strengh series, mis and power hour and preordered the new series. So is the ctx series like any of the others aside from them also having cardio?
Thanks shelia

I believe it's classified as an endurance workout, because Cathe takes very short rests between sets on each weights section.
There are approximately 3 exercises per body part, and the rests are very short, some seem like 30 sec or less to me! :)

They are nice because of their versatility! Each body part can be done in either a 10 min or 15 min set, so you can create an individual plan for yourself, work a mix of different body parts, especially helpful when concentrating on a particular body part such as arms when you may want an additional workout for them, but not necessarily any other body part. Plus the convenience of having a cardio portion prior to the weights, you get a cardio + weights workout in under an hour. Not to mention how handy it is to have a 30min intense cardio workout for those days you're short on time, but want a good workout! Plus, each of them is fun, fun, fun! :)

RE: What Donna said . . .

. . . plus my own $.02 -

I've had the CTX in video form for a little over a year now, and just crossed the digital divide and replaced the vids with their DVD sisters. Holy buckets, what a great value! The way Cathe has chaptered the DVD's opens up a whole new world of mix-n-match possibilities, PLUS the DVD has also organized all of the upper body workouts into one extended segment as a bonus, as well as all of the ab routines onto another extended segment.

I love CTX. And the ab sections, especially my fave segment in the Kickbox workout, simply rock!

Well worth the dough, especially the DVD's -

I use the cardio sections from CTX all the time. They are so versatile. I'll often tack a CTX cardio on before or after doing PS. I especially like Step & Intervals. And Leaner Legs is definitely worth it. It's such a good compliment to the more strength oriented lower body workouts like PS Legs. When I'm doing a PS rotation I'll usually do PowerCircuit (CTX cardio with lower body circuits) or Leaner Legs in addition to PS Legs (of course when plenty of recovery days in between).

The strength portion is supposedly more endurance than strength but it reminds me more of MIS than PH. I just love all of the strength sections from CTX. It's kind of like PS in that you spend a long time (10 minutes) on each muscle. It feels so thorough to me.

And the abs sections are all amazing. BTW, I have the series on tape which limits the versatility of it. I'd recommend getting it on DVD if you can.
