Does anyone have experience with strength training after fracturing the larger of the two forearm bones, the distal radius. It required surgery and was repaired with a plate and six screws. I also dislocated the ulna. I am fearing seeing my atrophied little arm when the cast comes off. I am hoping I can get back to moderate to heavy strength work soon. I am a trifle scared but hopeful being that this is the most common fracture of said forearm when a clutz breaks her fall with an outstretched hand-and her face, chin, nose. I looked like a pugilist for weeks. I will be 45 next month so don't have youth to ensure my hasty recovery. If anyone has any advice, I would so appreciate it! I will discuss this with my doctor on 12/04 but thought I'd inquire to my favorite fitness fanatics, the educated crowd here in the forums. Everything has gone very well so far and I have followed doctor's orders to the T but I am just a little fearful and would love your advice, encouragement. Inactivity is making me crazy and the days have somehow gotten longer. What's up with that? The 4 Day Workouts will be here on Thursday and I think they will be perfect except I'll be starting with light weights. Please chime in if you have any words of wisdom for the woman who tripped over her dog, toppled down 7 steps onto a hard tile floor and discovered she is not ambidextrous.
