camp pendleton mud run

I was wondering if there are any southern californian's planning on doing the mud run in June - or if anyone has ever done it. My neighbor has signed up and she wants me to do it with her but I'm nervous. I'm an advanced exerciser, but this would be the first 10k I've ever done and it has obstacles and mud (which does sound really fun)!! Any tips or experiences that anyone wants to share would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
~Tracy~

DO IT!

My SIL and I did it last year. If you can run a 10K and are an advanced exerciser you will have no problem. There is a ton of uphill, so you might want to train for that. It is, hands down, the most fun you will ever have running a race. Don't expect an awesome time. Just expect to have a load of fun!

Some tips: Wear an old pair of running shoes. The shower afterwards is open air, so you won't really be getting much off of you. When I went to shower at the hotel afterwards, I couldn't believe how much mud was still in my clothes. Trying swimming on the river crossing instead of walking.

I'm so jealous! I've been injured and am sticking to 5K for now. Plus my SIL (running partner) is preggo!

RE: DO IT!

My dad did it a long time ago but it wasn't voluntary.
