Calories in your low impact step workout

Cathe,

I am new to your step class. I weigh about 255 pounds. I love your low impact step workout. But I would like to know how many calories I burn working out to this tape?

I wear a heart rate monitor and I am with in the zone. I can complete the enitire workout.

It would motivate me even more to know how many calories I am actually burning. Before your tape I was just a couch potato. Thanks for creating something doable for people like myself.

I don't have the answer to your question, but I just wanted to CONGRATULATE you for doing this workout. It's a huge accomplishment to go from couch potato to CATHE!!! great job!!!

I am not Cathe, but I also want to congratulate you. How many calories you burn depends on the height of the step as well as your arm movements plus your weight. Therefore, the calories burned is only an estimate. Some step workouts are also more intense than others. Different sources also give different estimates.

You can try this website, but it doesn't differentiate as to the heigh of the step.

For each additional two inches of height on a step, you burn approximately one calorie a minute.

I am impressed that you can complete the workout after being a couch potato. It doesn't matter how many calories, just that you are doing the workout in the zone! Keep it up. :) :)
 
The number of calories is not important. Be proud of yourself because you have done the workout.
