AquaJock, Please help me critique my PS series rotation. You always have great imput and I really would value your opinion. I was unsure about doing Kickboxing between back and bicep day and legs day- to much?. This is my first time doing a three day split. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I read on one of the forums that PS legs and abs makes your legs bulk up. Is this correct? and should I lift lower weights for legs then? Thank you, thank you,Thank you SO much for helping.!!:) And again, Happy Holidays :)
 
Hi, Deanie! Thanks for your kind words! I think you've cooked up a very good rotation here; you among others are rediscovering the Pure Strength Series.

I personally don't think you should lower your weight loads for the PS leg workouts. You're only doing that workout once a week, and it's a strength-oriented workout so you should really be challenging the leg muscles in that workout. I personally believe that, far too often, people report their own individual results with a specific workout and presume all others will have the same results, and that's just not so.

If you're worried about "bulking", I'd suggest in week 3 using higher intensity step and kickbox routines for your cardio, or perhaps substituting hi/lo for the kickbox and again making your step routine a really sweat-fest. Use your own discretion in Week 4 when you get there, whether you want a day off after CK or have the good juice to do Rhythmic Step.

Thank you so much for answering!!:) What would you recommend for week 3 cardio? Maybe RS instead of low max? and I am getting Kick max this week so I don't know what is in there but maybe switch CK and KM?or eliminate KM and do CK in weeks 2 and 3? I am excited to use KM but if I have to wait to use it I'm okay with that. Also, I don't have MIC but I am thinking of getting the vhs maybe that would be good on week 3.

Yes, Rhythmic Step instead of Low Max.

Instead of eliminating Kick Max, here's a suggestion: do the Kick Max cardio and blast challenge, and instead of doing the leg drills at the end of Kick Max, do the Power Drill segment at the end of Cardio Kicks. The leg drills in Kick Max are not cardio-oriented and the Power Drills at the end of CK are seriously cardio-oriented.

And get the Rhythmic Step / Interval max / MIC DVD as soon as humanly possible. You really, REALLY want that DVD. As a DVD, not individual videos. The mish-moshing options are too good with the disc.
