Hi,

Has anyone tried this? What kind of resutls did you get. I read one hour is equal to 24 hours of aerobics???

Is this like pilates or yoga? Can you recommend a good DVD?

Thanks,
Winter

Callenetics is tough when done correctly. The newer workouts that are similar would be Lotte Berk, Barr Method and maybe some of T-Tapp. A lot a ballet inspired moves with isometric holding or pulsing. You do feel "pulled in" when you do the workouts. I think the one hour equaling 24 hours of aerobics is crazy. Callentics has been around at least 20 years and if that statement was accurate, I would be Twiggy! :7

I tried it five or six years ago and did not like it at all. In fact, I think I used one of the tapes one time and did not even try the other one. IIRC, it was a lot of isometric type of exercises and for a few of them you really needed a barre to do them properly. For me personally, unless I'm moving fast or lifting weights and sweating, I don't feel like I'm getting any exercise at all and this just didn't cut it for me.

I've used Callanetics for several years now and I love the workouts. If done correctly these exercises will give you great results. They aren't the most exciting workouts I've ever done, but they have given be some pretty exciting results. If you don't care for Callanetics some of the Iscupt ballet workouts incorporate these types of exercises. I do both and I love both.:D

Alot of people like the itrain iballet downloads which feature similar exercises with better music! They are audio w/ pictures only though. Marnie
