Calf Raises?

Does anyone know if these make your calves bigger? Anyone test it? I try to avoid them b/c my calves are big enough (if anything I would like to slim them down) but I would do them if I knew the opposite were true.
Also I feel the burn in under my bum a little (which is great if it gives my bummy a little lift):) Does anyone else feel it there?

Yeah, I feel it there too, it bites like Cathe says! I read somewhere on here recently (can't remember who said it) that they stopped using weights with calf raises and that slimmed them down?! I could be wrong but I'll try and search it.


ETA: I've searched my recent searches and I cannot find it. Hopefully someone will weigh in on this soon:D
 
My calves are "big-gish" but they never got bigger with calf raises. At least not with the ones in Cathe's workouts, not even with those in PS-Legs, where light weights are used. They did get firmer, which I like.:) The calf work in GS-Legs are killers! On bad days I do only half of it.

I feel the burn literally within 30 seconds of calf raises. My calves initially seem pumped at first but within a day they slim back down and seem more defined.

I must say that this is the one exercise that makes me feel like I want to barf. I cannot stand them but the definition seems worth the effort.
 
I have big calves to begin with, but they actually slimmed down over the years (2 inches) and look very muscular now. And I always do the calf raises.

I also feel it in my upper hamstrings and lower bum.

My calves have never gotten bigger with calf raises, they have actually slimmed down from doing them.

My calves got more toned with calf raises but not bigger. What made them bigger were spinning classes.....
