caden nicholas!

Caden Nicholas decided that 38 1/2 weeks was long enough for him inside. :) Our little guy was born early Tuesday morning, weight 6lbs 4oz, 20in long.

I love cuddling with my little sweetheart, but he will not sleep unless he's being held. We've tried the bouncy seat and bassinet but no luck. Should I continue with cuddling him all the time, or play "tough mom" and have him fall asleep crying? He's just so little..I feel bad having him cry it out so soon. Any ideas?

Congratulations!!!!

There is plenty of time for "sleep-training" later.
You snuggle that sweet bundle for all you're worth!!!!

How did the labor go???

Congratulations!
Post a pic when you have a free minute :)
Enjoy your snuggle time with your newest family member! I agree with Kate - but i'm pregnant for the first time so i'm not the best person to ask for advice. :)

hope this attachment works..will type more when i have more than one hand free!

Oh, he's perfect! You must be on Cloud 9!
Enjoy that baby and do NOT worry abolut the sleep issues yet. :)
Hope you have some post-partum help! Wish I could make you some food!

Congratulations! Your baby is beautiful!! We had that problem with our little one only sleeping in our arms. But I found that the infant carseat soothes them too. They like snugly spaces. But I also agree with Kate, enjoy the snuggling for now!!

Congratulations LisaMarie!! No better WO thatn that of delivering a baby!! LOL.
Enjoy every moment, it goes by so fast.

Glad I popped in on this section. Never been on the pregnancy one before....

Awww hes precious!!! :) congratulations!
well I know the lack of sleep is killer but I think its too soon for cry it out? personally I don't do it ever I'm more of an attachement mom. Just try to get sleep when hes out.

What a handsome little guy! It DOES go by so fast...don't worry about him only sleeping in your arms bc pretty soon he won't want you to hold him at all!;) Congratulations!!!:D

There is a book

Called the No Cry Sleep Solution. I used it when I was baby sitting a pre-mie It doesn't work all the time but does help. Also, watch out for food allergies (my brother didn't sleep because he was allergic to red dye #5 which was in the medicine the doctors gave him.) My parents took turns when we were little.

Let us know how it goes.

Please snuggle with your son! It will only teach him to trust you when he needs you now, later he'll feel more confident sleeping alone. I went through that too with my first born, and I carried both my infants around in a Snuggly attached to my hip. They weren't spoiled and they slept in their own cribs, but when they cried I always was there. Of course there is time for setting some ground rules later, but I think from 0 to at least 8 months they got to know your somewhere when they need you. Congratulations on such a blessed event!

Thank you all for your support and advice! Caden can now handle about 20minutes in the bouncy, if he's in a deep sleep. Otherwise, he's been getting a lot of cuddling from his proud mom and dad.

Thanks again!

Oh! Another new baby :) Congratulations LisaMarie, he is gorgeous! We picked Nicholas for a boy middle name too, we just never had a boy!!!

I would say hold and snuggle your baby and later on you can worry about the sleeping issues, and maybe by then, he will be a great little sleeper!!!! Things happen like that, we worry and fret for nothing ;)

Have fun!

I'd say--just cuddle him and enjoy it. I've never regretted sleeping with my infants, but I'm more of an attachment mom too:D. congratulations!

Maggie:)
