How is everyone today?

Cathy: Okay, I am behind the times. It never occurred to me that by now you would be able to do the point thing online! DUH! LOL Can you do a "search" instead of having to manually look through a list like you do in the book? Wow, I haven't done HSC is AGES! Too many work out, too little time. One of these centuries (LOL), I am going to try a circuit rotation. I've never tried it. Have you?

Diana: Good job with GSB&B! Last night's dinner sounds delish! No park today unfortunately...gotta work until noon. Will only have time for lunch and perhaps a little play time afterwards and then it's off for a nap. Yes, I am talking about DS, not myself!:p

Angie: I hope your MIL gets past this. Have you considered some kind of theraphy for her? I think that might do her good. She needs to move on beyond her husband's death and it appears that she is not able to do it alone. I don't have a huge area of hard floor either. I have a small eat-in kitchen, a short hallway and a small bathroom BUT I am *NOT* a scrubber! NO WAY!:p LOL

So today was SUPPOSED to be BBC Chest and Abs including the cardio BUT my tri's and calves are still screaming at me so I'm changing it to BBC Shoulders and Back w/some abs and an alternate cardio.

Only 2 more days until I leave for my girls weekend...WOO HOO!:7

I am off from work today for my neuro appointment @ the U. of Penn. My mom took off, too, to go w/ me and help navigate since I don’t know that area of the city well. I have a little bit of time here and then need to get ready. Later, we’re going to take in a matinee. (Do not want to even think about how many points are in a medium bag of popcorn, even w/out the butter, but I’m goin’ for it!) And at some point, either this morning or afternoon, I’ll get in that run & the ab work.

Wendy :: yes, you can do a search and a large number of foods are already in the system, including brand names and restaurant entrees. I do also program my own foods into it and consult a website called Dottisweightlosszone.com for add'l point info. It's pretty straight-forward and not too time-consuming...Yes, I am on a circuit rotation right now. Remember, you suggested it! *lol* I run 3-4x, do yoga/stretch 1x, and am doing 2 circuits per week...enjoy your w/out!!

Diana :: great job getting in GS BSB! Dumb question…but what is chicken stroganoff? I’ve heard of it but never had it.

Angie :: ((((HUGS)))) after those stressful couple of days you’ve had…There would definitely be a strong element of anger for me, too, if one of my parents tried to end their lives. Losing someone you love is devastating, but if you have children and grandchildren, why would you double their loss that way? It is a burden no one should be left with, wondering what you might have done to prevent it, or feeling that you did not matter in their lives to make them want to stay alive. I’m glad BF’s husband is her doctor…that’s reassuring…This time it was HSC, not HST…Yes, I meant the purple bands…I weigh in on Mondays when my WW week starts over. I know it seems less advantageous to WI after the weekend, but I like to do it this way, so that I have to use my flex points sparingly during the week in order to save them up for the weekend.

Oh dear Cathy! I'm such a bonehead! LOL Yes, NOW I remember that I suggested the circuit rotation! LOL How's it working out? Do you like it? I hope the doc appointment goes well and enjoy whatever movie you decided on! Make sure you let us know how many that popcorn costs you!}( Actually airpopped, PLAIN popcorn is like nothing and VERY GOOD for you. I don't think you can get that at the theater though. Even if you don't have them add the butter, the popcorn automatically comes with SOMETHING on it.
 
Morning Ladies!

DOMS .. DOMS .. DOMS .. yessssss .. I am feeling it today .. buttocks, hamstrings, inner thigh, and abs!!! :eek: between Monday's class (which EVERYONE was already sore from) ..and last night's torture class my body is screaming at me!!!:eek: :D

Cathy - hope the Dr. appnt goes well for you!

Diana - LOVE stroganoff - one fo my favorites .. I have never made it in the crock pot though .. and I usually use deer meat ... but MMM MM MMM

Wendy - sounds like the BF's training is going well .. hate the other friend got injured .. dang it ..

Angie - hope the MIL finds herself in a good place today!! parents can surely take their tolls on you!!

Well the dang maniac got released .. and my friend was in sheer panic mode yesterday .. then she went and prayed w/her pastor and got into a better place .. got her locks on her house changed .. but the company stepped in and put some safety precautions in to protect her as well as others here at work (he is also an employee .. YIKES) and that freaked her out ... she is in a very confused place right now ..she does not see her position as being "domestically abused" .. one minute she is scared for her life .. the next minute she takes up for him swearing he would never hurt her. TYPICAL .. I am hoping the talk w/my brother (the Sheriff) will make her more aware of the very volital situation she is in and she will get a restraining order. Her son stayed w/her last night .. (he is 23) .. she said sometime last night someone drove up and pulled up to her back door .. then circled the house .. aahhhhhhh .. I am REALLY scared for her!!

I pray she does what is best for herself AND her family .. screw the maniac!!x(

Anyway ... it has been a very strange and disturbing week!

due to the DOMS the lunch workout is not gonna happen .. so tonight's class will either be super cardio or power yoga .. probably NEED the power yoga to stretch this poor old sore body out! LOL

Laura :: OMG, I didn't realize you all worked together. Good the way the company responded and that her son is staying with her, but I really think they should both go elsewhere for at least a few days...Enjoy your super cardio or yoga (good stress relief!) and your DOMS!! }(

Wendy :: I do like the circuit rotation. Thanks again for the suggestion! Although I try to go a little heavy with weights, it is not as heavy as I was doing before, so it's different and fresh. In terms of whether or not it's working, I guess it's a bit soon to say. This is the 2nd week. As you know, I am still up a lb. but workin' on that! We opted to skip the movie and ate lunch at Applebee's instead. We both tried the steak & portobello entree - 7 pts. I looked into the popcorn - a medium bag is probably 7 pts. When I do go to the movies (which is pretty rare anymore--maybe every few months), I will usually eat a bag of that and it replaces a meal. So I guess the damage isn't too severe.

The doc appt. this morning took forever...an hour to get there (on account of the traffic) and another hour-and-a-half before I was seen by the doc. The exam itself took all of 10 minutes. Basically, he confirmed that the abnormality seen on the MRI is nothing serious (no MS, stroke, or tumor) and that it's probably been there since birth. He did not draw any correlation between the headaches or the double vision and didn't provide any insight about why the migraines are on the rise. I left a little disappointed, to tell you the truth. I didn't think anything was seriously wrong w/ me, but I'd hoped to get some answers. And I realized as I left that I didn't mention some of the other weird (possibly inconsequential but still unusual-for-me) neurological things I have from time to time -- like the electric shock feeling going up my leg or the vertigo. So, even though I thought HE didn't ask a whole lot of questions, I guess it's my fault, too, for not bringing up some of those issues. But I have to admit, I have this thing where I guess I'm a little intimidated by doctors in general, and I also don't want to complain about something that's probably trivial. (I grew up in a household where the prevailing attitude was, "Oh, it's nothing. Snap out of it." Or, "Put some peroxide on it and that'll kill all the germs." *lol* Like Windex to the Greeks, peroxide cured all in my family.)

All right, this is just rambling going nowhere, isn't it? *lol* The bottom line: I plan to make an appt. with a local neuro, hopefully one who is a little more interested in getting to the bottom of my migraines and the daily headache/pressure.

On an up note, being off in the middle of the week is sweeet! I propose Wednesdays off from now on!!!

And on *another* up note, my BSN Lean Dessert Banana Nut Bread arrived today. Mmmm!!! Delish! Oh, what joy one derives from a visit from the UPS truck!

I've been busy all day! This morning I did Lowmax-thinking it would help work some of the DOMS out of my legs. They are feeling a little better, but still sore. I had my weigh in at lunch and was down .8 which is better than nothin'.

Wendy-only 2 1/2 weeks 'til your HM. Are you ready? How is your training going? Are you cutting back your mileage now? I hope you enjoy the HM distance as much as I do. You must be very excited for your trip this weekend-you're already counting down the days:)

Cathy-Sorry th Dr. didn't give you the information you are looking for. A friend gave me the crockpot chicken stroganof recipe. Place chicken breasts in crock pot, mix 1 pkg onion soup mix, lowfat sour cream and cream of chicken soup together, pour mixture over chicken and cook on low 6-8 hrs. You can put it over noodles or rice, whatever you prefer. I just ate the chicken breast and some steamed broccoli :) I was not going to eat pasta the day before I weigh in!

Laura-I am really scared for your friend. He sounds like a possesive monster. It sounds as though she is taking the appropriate precautions. I think I need yoga too, my muscles are sore from heavy lifting this week.

Angie-when my stepmom od'd on pills she was in the hospital for 24-48 hrs and then transferred to another location for observation for 3 days. She also meets with a therapist and takes antidepressants. Of course only the immediate family knows what happened and she doesn't want the rest of the family to know. After this incident, I have not or will not leave my children in her care. It's not really an issue since the boys are older, but she and my dad did care for their grandkids quite a bit when they were little. I am so sorry you and your family have to go through this. Run is done. Wanted to shoot for 4 miles but felt like puking the whole time, for some reason. Not sure what's goin' on there. Kinda came outta nowhere. So I kept it to 3 and will wait a bit before doing abs.

Diana :: congrats on the loss! Send me some of those get-skinny vibes, will ya? :7 ...I don't really know WHAT I'm looking for...but I would think if someone is getting headaches and migraines more frequently, it might be worth looking into how to reverse that trend. ??? Or not. I dunno. This is why I just usually "deal with it" - whatever *it* may be. Doing the Accutane was a HUGE stretch...between that and this other stuff going on this past year, I have had my fill and think I am "done" with doctors for awhile...Mmm, the stroganoff sounds good - thanks!...I confess, I don't do any crock pot cooking but that sounds worthwhile!!...I'm glad to hear your stepmom survived. I wondered but was afraid to ask.

Hi Ladies!

Just poppin' in for a few before I hit the showers. BBC Shoulders and Back is DONE! I ended up doing that cardio after all and OMG did my calves SCREAM at me for it!:eek: }( :eek: It's done now though and I'm happy I went for it. I also tacked on ABA ab work at the end.

Laura: Yes, BF is THRILLED! She's down 8.5 pounds and 4.5 inches! WOOH!:7 So is your TB injury all better now? Hugs and prayers for your friend. I hope her and her daughter stay safe.

Cathy: Sorry you didn't get the answers you wanted from the neuro today. That stinks. Now see if I went to the movies and ate a bag of popcorn I would STILL want that meal too! Thank goodness if I go to the movies once every 6 months, it's a lot!:p :7 Glad you are enjoying the circuit rotation. I hope it works for you.

Diana: What mileage!? LOL The only MILEAGE I really run are the long runs every other weekend! My other 2 runs during the week are between 2 and 4.5 miles long. No tapering needed for this girl. :p I feel I am ready. I would like to get in one more long run of 11.5 miles if I can before the half but if I don't it's OKAY. I feel confident that I can do it now that I've got 10 miles under my belt. :) Good job on the weight loss!

I got my steam mop today!!! I have to put it together and try it out! I don't know if I'll have the chance today though. I have so much stuff comin' to me over the next several days cuz I went on a shopping frenzy! The UPS man is gonna HATE me! LOL }(

Well, gotta hit the showers now and ofcourse, wash those dishes! It's my afternoon chore every day. Not my fave, but a neccessary evil...

Wendy :: did you do the non-TM cardio with that one? It's been so long, I can't rem what it's like... As I said to Diana, not really sure WHAT I'm looking for, but I kinda hoped the doc would try to do *SOMETHING* to reduce the headaches. Guess I was expecting too much!...Let us know how that mop is...You and I both have the UPS lads runnin' this week...Oh, but I love it!!! Packages make me so happpeeeeeee!!! :7 :7 :7

Cathy, Yeah it's non-TM cardio that I did. No TM at home so no way I can do the TM cardio. I watched one or two of them though and the speeds are far beyond what I am capable of so no biggie. The non-TM is alot of jump rope, jumping, hopping, etc. Killer on the calves when they DON'T hurt! YIKES!}(
 
Hi gals

It seems that posting late is my gig lately. We had a big wind storm roll thru last night and the power was out when the kids got on the bus this morning and with no power...no coffee.:-( I decided that noise was not for me and said *&ck it, and went back to bed. I woke up at 9:45 and the power was back on.:) I made my coffee and went to work....being your own boss is a beautiful thing. I really didn't get much done though. Lots of people calling and dropping in, so I still have a desk full of work, but it'll have to wait until next week.

MIL came in today as well....which really surprised me. I was planning on stopping by her house after work. She looks like hell. We talked and there were a lot of tears.:-( She has NO coping skills at all, which is nothing new. She doesn't want to be alone, but is anxious whenever she is around people. It's just so hard to help her, it seems like you/she just can't win. She has an appt. with the doc tomorrow and I talked to BF tonight and told her I think a few days in the mental ward would be good for her and I think she is willing to try that....we'll see how the appt. goes tomorrow.

Wendy - I agree...therapy is definitely in order! Can you believe that they never set her up with a mental health eval. after she left the hospital? They told her just to keep her follow up visit that she already had with her doc on Oct 19th!:eek: So, this is what they do to folks that try to commit suicide??? How nice! I wonder what they would do to someone in the same circumstances who didn't have family to make sure they got help before they decided to give it another try? The health care system pi$$es me off!
So, it looks like you are spending DH's overtime $$$. Do you think he would be miffed about you spending so much quality time with the UPS man??:eek: :p
I'm hopfully going to be packing for the weekend tomorrow too! We're going on a much needed camping trip....although it won't be kidless like we anticipated. We had planned on MIL watching the kids....so new plans. It'll still be nice to get away and the weather forecast looks beautiful.

Cathy - So sorry the neruo appt. didn't go well. You should send the neruo a bill for your wasted time. I hate having to wait for the doctor! They make you make an appt., and some times you wonder why?? It's frustrating! Do you know anyone who can recommend a good neuro doc? Most of the time the best docs are found by word of mouth.
It sounds like I had the same type of upbringing as you did. Basically it was "if it ain't broke or bleeding uncontrollably, you'll be just fine....just suck it up". I have to admit, I treat my boys the same way. I turned out OK....I guess. *lol*

Are you done with the accutane? Might that have something to do with your symptoms?
What? You don't use the crock pot?? Some of my favorite dishes are waiting for me when I get home. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my crockpot!! In fact, I had an awesome roast waiting for me when I got home...it was delish!

Laura - I have to agree with Cathy that I think BF should get the heck out of that house for a while....even if it is to be in a hotel for a while around people. This guy sounds creepy...and for him to circle the house. I would hate to see anything happen to her or her son. I would be worth the $$$$ to get out of there for a while and let the situation cool off for a few days at least. Maybe even a hotel close to the cop shop would be a good idea....if nothing else to make her feel safe for a bit and get a good night's sleep.
I'll bet the DOMS are feelin good! Glad you're back in full swing.

I want to try some new crock pot ideas b/c I love the way meat is so tender and juicy in the CP. I have a crock pot cookbook that I really need to open up and try soon. Tis the season for CP usage.

Well, I did Coresyn today and I felt really strong. I don't know if it was the extra sleep or what but I powered thru it and didn't do near as many modifications. I love that feeling! I wish I had it more often. I also wasn't hungry today. What???? I'm always hungry! But, I could've easily skipped lunch (but didn't) and didn't even need a snack when I got home which is extremely rare. I'm usually starving at 3-4pm. I wish I knew what this was about b/c it would be really easy to lose the weight without the hunger nagging me all the time. I wonder how long this will last?

I better get my butt to bed.....I've rambled long enough.
