Morning girls,

Quick start. Got MMA boxing in this AM. It was pretty good. I have a hard time keeping my hr up during the arm combos (why I'm not crazy about KB) but it was pretty fun. The core work was good too.

Wow, lots of new people here lately! Welcome Becky! I am a almost 30 (bday on Sunday!) sahm, married to my hs sweetheart (Ryan) and we have 2 daughters. Annabel is 5 and Ellie is 3.5. We currently live in northern France (have been here for a year) with Caterpillar. We'll be here another 18 months or so. It's been a crazy ride! You are one busy girl - I'm impressed!

I'll come back for more personals later. Need to eat bfast and feed my girls and such.

Wendy, I hear you about feeling like the circuits are a little out of my capability. But I always like a challenge. I'm still needing to work up to the "unnamed series" - specifically drill max and butts and guts. So tough!

Colleen, glad your WO went by quickly. I am anxious to try STS but I'm guessing it will be at least 18 months until I make the purchase. Plus I need all the stuff - don't even have a barbell yet! Are you feeling better?

Clintoya, I think the 3.5 month rotation is a good goal for all of us. It's just such an accomplishment. I love checking boxes! How long have you been doing Cathe? And yes, the time change can be difficult!

Anne, have a great time visiting your friend. A post divorce makeover is definitely deserved! Enjoy yourself! BTW, you're rocking your WOs lately! I'm proud!!

Klaudia, way to get our group some crazy t-shirt ideas. :) I was laughing pretty hard about all that y'day! And I agree with Kate - try the HIIT!

Nina, you slay me! Why?! Why would you do 3 workouts on top of each other? Especially those 3! Do you skip the w/u and c/d on them and just do the wo?

Robin, sorry about the training! Bummer... anything good about the job? The discount?

GOt WO #3 in last night. Laura came over and we did MMA Box. I am crazy-sore from MM UB yday too. YAY!

I'm up early to stretch & shower. This AM the "port-a-medic" nurse is coming TO OUR HOUSE (yay!) for our life insurance physicals. No plans after that for the rest of the day

Yeah, I had similar feelings about MMA boxing. Was hoping for a little more intensity. I always wonder what I'm doing wrong. She's saying things like "That'll get your heart rate up" and I'm seriously punching my heart out and I can't get past 150 bpm just with upper body. Oh well, it's not always about the cal burn I suppose. I'm so impressed with your 3x a day workouts! You're on fire!

Girls are good today. We just finished watching Annie (probably one of my favorite childhood movies) and now we're heading to the bakery to get sandwiches for lunch.

Cathe is getting SLAMMED on VF for things like MMA Box and others not being intense enough. I say - Not every day can or SHOULD be an Imax3 day - there's room for a low-intensity WO like the Boxing. Maybe those that are so "knowlegeable" :rolleyes: should put out a DVD. Maybe they'd like to have it criticized to death.
 
LOL no DOMS here but today I did the rest of Leaner Legs

Angie the store is getting ready to have valentine day stuff...and special $15 or 20 off. How's your studies? My suggestion for MMA-b since it's all upper body is to add on leg work or 1/2 hour of cardio.I like the kickboxing better because I like to do round houses...and look at the guys.

I got up early to workout and did CTX 2nd half leaner legs and its core. CTX core work is too easy compared to sts core.

Yday I shopped-clean at aldi and stuck to my guns even with the kids with me. No snacks in the house except prezels. I need an air pop corn maker.

angie, you mademe laugh. right now i am only running 4 days a week and on my off days, i am just trying to find a good wo, you know? so i started with 40/20, then wanted to do 30/30 again, and, well, the boxing is just fun. i do get my hr up with it. not sure why:confused:

kate, i had the porto medic come for the life insurance physicals. BE CAREFUL. they drew blood on my and seriously did something wrong. i could not use my arm for 6 hrs after (i think they hit a nerve). anyways, i am sure your person will be fine.

anne, i love the idea of a post divorce makeover!! and you are seriously rocking your wos.

klaudia, try a hiit wo! i think you will enjoy them.

colleen, what do you think of your new job? has it been a whole month yet?

clintonya, how is your mom these days? do you help out with her care and dr stuff a lot?

hi katie, hi robin. sorry i am not keeping up better.

i had such a great run this am - 9miles. i am wanting to push it, but i am trying not too. i need to do some weights later. i also have to go get some pants hemmed. i bought coh jeans on ebay for 37$!! they look brand new. i was psyched. todays eats - i am going to work on cutting cals. i am feeling really bulky and less defined. i know it is my diet. i do need to subtract food, and it is purely emtotional. anwyays, will try hard today! bbiab
 
robin, you snuck in! leaner legs is such a killer. good idea with adding on to mma boxing. i love kicking too.

hi becky. my name is nina, and i am currently a sahm to a 19month old and 3.5 yo boys. when i work i am a veterinarian. your wos and work level are amazing. this group is wonderful.

Kate stop reading that garbage. No matter what Cathe puts out there will always be people looking to criticize. Most people don't know what constructive criticism is anyway. They are HATERs
 
Nina you rock that run this morning. The easy substration for me is carbs. I really (at my age) don't need carbs 5 times per day. I keep reminding myself that 2 slices of bread is 2 serving of carbs.

Morning ladies! I like the thread title - I definitely have DOMS this morning! I feel asleep on the couch around 830 last night, finally went to bed around 9, slept in until about 5. Was up for awhile, then went back to bed for some BD'ing with my husband;) Will wo after work if I feel up to it!

Kate, that nurse coming to your home is a god-send. I cannot function until i've had my coffee! I agree with Robin, stop reading that trash;)

Robin, when is the JCP sale?

Nina, great run this morning. Take it easy for awhile if you can stand it!

Angie, i've never seen that movie. Your lunch plan sounds heavenly!

Off to work:rolleyes: We are supposed to get some sleet/freezing rain/snow tonight so maybe a long weekend for me - *fingers and toes crossed*

angie, CCC and CB dont look like they are for me, havent traded them yet tho. i do love cardio and wt (esp ub) circuits but not so much this kind and so much high imp. i did see kathryn's thread with mods so we'll see. athletic step is next on my list, id like to try it before trading it away. def keeping the MMAs, step moves and travel fit for sure.

robin, LOL at looking at the guys in MMA KB! did you end up making chili?

nina, i am so needle-phobic, your story about that nurse just freaked me out just thinking about it!

kate, i see those threads, too. i never post over there except to trade. i just don't get the LEVEL of upset over these things, i have my day-to-day to worry about ya know? what robin said, HATERS.

anyhoo, no doms for me today just yet, ive had 2 days of no workouts now, i just feel like garbage. today is dentist (those cavities filled) and later a mtg, i just joined the board of a local non-profit.

my guys finished the chili so i dont have to eat it for one more meal, yippee =)

Hi Everyone!

I am tired today. I hope it is just the weather and not my cold coming back. I did the High Intensity drills from KPC and then MMA Fusion. Work has been so quiet that it is driving me crazy but I know one day I will wake up and it will be out of control.

Katie, I have my fingers crossed for you. Our weatherman said we are supposed to get an inch of stuff. It could be snow ice or rain. Fun!
Kate, I agree that the MMA's aren't very intense but I have added on some intensity when I wanted it. I don't feel the need to bash Cathe for that. I just don't understand why some people just can't stop complaining and move on with their lives. Sell the workout and donate the money to Haiti relief.
Robin, I love sales. I am always leary of going near the JCP near me because a former coworker was attacked outside that mall. I know it can happen at any mall but I can't get that through my brain.
Angie, maybe you should try using weighted gloves for the boxing moves. It helps to increase the intensity for me and fries my arms.
Nina, I have been at my new job for 6 weeks now. Great find on ebay.
Mdbecky, welcome to our group. I am married, live outside of Washington, DC and work as a program manager for a government contractor.

Ok, ok! I'll give one of the HIIT's a whirl today! Nothing else on tap for today besides some cleaning and dance this afternoon. Target's having a huge clearance sale so I'm heading up there now:) Eats have been clean except for some popcorn last night-Darrin's getting a kick out of making it in a pot!

Angie, I feel the same way about MMA Boxing, but I agree with Kate too-no need for high intensity EVERY workout! And I'm going to try Robin's idea of using it as an add on. Those t-shirts were hilarious!

Kate, we've had those nurses here before, too-love the convenience! I lurk over on VF but feel they're too condescending most of the time. Not a fan. The pure barre class runs an hour:)

Robin, good job on the clean shopping trip! We need an air popper too. Great menu! Haters is right!

Nina, you're just hardcore is all! I wish I were more of a cardio junkie, but alas, no. I had a L&D nurse do that to me-I almost passed out! And I have no issue with needles! CofH jeans for $37!! I'm headed over to ebay to have a look-see:)

Katie, I have some DOMS-I'm sure it'll kick in later! Hope you get a snow day!:)

Angie, I think it has been about 6 yrs or so since I started doing Cathe workouts. My 1st dvd was the Cardio & Weights/Imax 2 combo and I remember sitting on my exercise bike trying to learn the moves & thinking one day I will be able to do that :) I agree with Colleen about the gloves, it really made a difference for me.

Robin, have fun at work! Great job on the clean shopping, I know how it is with the kids, my oldest is always trying to persuade me to get something :)

Klaudia, if you do a hiit, let me know how it goes :)

Colleen, hope the tiredness goes away as the day goes on! The KPC drills sound like a great add-on.

Nina, I was so impressed w/ your wo, I had to tell my daughters! Yes, we take her to all the dr’s appts and do her shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc. She can still get around the house with a walker and is able to heat her food up after we have cooked it, but we pretty much do everything else.

Kate, yea for another 3 day workout! I told my daughters about you too!

I am going to do legs tonight instead so that I will have more time for back and triceps. It takes more setup time with the weights and pull-ups, and Sat I will have more time.

katie, i am just so happy for you, and truthfully jealous. if i did not have hormone issues, i'd be trying for number 3 right now.

robin, good suggestion about the carbs. i need more due to running, but i am trying to work on empty calories and trying to eat more legumes. i am wondering if i should cut fruit as i eat a ton of it. but, then, if i reach for nuts or other snacks, that is wasted. :confused:

wendy, i need to learn how to trade away dvds. i have a few amy's to give up - i have never even opened asc3:eek: i am doing cb today. really, give the core work in ccc a try and weight work in cb. it is super fun.

must do a few errands and pick up the boys. i need to do weights later but not sure what.
 
Nina, Good news form the PT! I'm sure they are amazed by you!

Robin, I've deleted all carbs in the form of grains and I feel fantastic. Produce has plenty of carbs for me.

Katie, Baby-Makin'Max sounds like a fun WO to me!

Wendy, Good luck@ the dentist. Call me crazy but I didn't take their pain meds/numb stuff when I got a filling.

Physical done....I'm officially boring.:p ZERO in my health history other than childbirth. SHe couldn't believe I didn't have a doctor! LOL! AND!!!!!! Oh my! The best thing of all!!! Her scale was 5# less than mine!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!

Did some errands w/ the chillun' now I'm home for the day!

So Target was pretty much a bust-everything was picked over:( And after trying on a few things I felt completely dejected-those mirrors are harsh! I did buy Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet book. Eats are clean-cereal and an orange for breakfast, soup with added spinach and some deli turkey and a pear for lunch. Dinner will be sauteed chicken sausage with peppers and onions. Going down in a 1/2 hour to work out. Any recs on which HiiT to try first?

Nina, eat the fruit! It is good, clean whole food. I've been trying for 2-3 servings/day. And I'm trying to eat spinach every day too. Just watch your portions, that's all:)

Kate, I didn't buy anything exciting and I still spent $175:( Needs before wants-blah!
