Holy moly! 8 or 9 puppies??? No wonder Pepper looks exhausted in that 3rd picture! ;) And the proud papa sure is a handsome doggie!

I can't wait to see pics of the pups! :D

Just wait until the little bundles of joy arrive...you would never imagine how it makes you feel to see the entire process right in front of your eyes.

When my ex and I had that one litter of precious little bulldog puppies, I stayed up with them (5 puppies in all) for 36 hours straight taking turns feeding them with a bottle and helping mommy nurse and keep them warm.

It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! And sometimes I still get tears to think about how precious and adorable those little babies were. :D
 
Oh poor Pepper! I would be moody and snapping at the boys, too, if I were that big and round (and with NINE babies inside me!) She's such a pretty dog! I so cannot wait to see the puppies! I'm so excited for you (and her!). My DD still wants a little girl merle to name Lilly, but I think DH would divorce me if I brought in another dog. :+
 
Oh my goodness, she's big and round! I bet she'll be glad to get those pups out of there:p And yes, papa is VERY handsome. Those are going to be some adorable pups for sure.
 
Thanks guys!! You can probably tell that I am pretty excited, but I am also a nervous wreck :) It's worse than when I was pregnant.

You had bulldog puppies? Those are so cute. It's great that she didn't have to have c-section, I heard that happens quite frequently with bulldogs.

I can relate to the "my husband will divorce me" statement, Christine. I will be in the same shoes if I decide to keep one of the pups :) So our agreement is, I can keep one, if it is tri-color with one or two blue eyes which is pretty unlikely. I don't think Pepper carries the gene for it, however, I don't know about Ice. So I guess there is a chance }(

I think my DH is more worried that I won't give up ANY of the pups :)

Yes, I did have one litter of bulldog puppies. My ex and I had a male bulldog for about 3 years before we finally got a female. The decision to breed them was a one-time event and mostly because everyone in his family adored Gizmo (the male) and wanted one of his puppies. After that litter, Bella was spayed and that was that.

To answer your other question, Bella did require a C-section. Almost all bulldogs do. Because of the C-section, Bella didn't immediately "take" to the puppies which the vet told us was completely normal for dogs that do not go through the birth process. Because of this, for the first 36 hours or so...I was MOM! She eventually came around and began performing her motherly duties without assistance from me, but it was tough in the beginning.

Though I wouldn't breed again for my own personal beliefs (over crowding of human societies and what not), the experience was one that I would never ever take back. I loved those babies so much!

Carola, is your avatar pic a picture of Pepper when she was a puppy? How beautiful both mommy and daddy are, the puppies are going to be gorgeous!!!

The bulldog puppies are ssssoooo cute, I'd be so afraid I couldn't rid of any!!!!
 
Best of luck to the mamma to be and her babies! Daddy is one handsome devil...those are some eyes! I'll bet all he had to do was look at Pepper and she was his forever!;)
 
Wow...that Iceman is a gorgeous dog!!! I have an aussie mix and she has one blue eye and one brown eye. Sooooo beautiful.

Pepper looks like she is going to POP!

Awwwww, Rose, those pups were adorable!! How were you able to give any of them away!!!???? I am not into the breeding thing either, but it was the only way to get Pepper. I had to buy out another breeder in TX out that she was sold to and paid an obscene amount, I agreed to two litters back to the breeder here in AZ. I am not sure I can do two litters, I was a wreck when she was in heat and now it is even worse :). Maybe the breeder will let me buy my way out of the second litter, we'll see.

Tina, the avatar is my other Mini Aussie, Scooter (I have 3 Mini Aussies :) ) as a pup.
I didn't get Pepper until she was almost two years old, but here is a picture of her as a puppy.

I know, Lorie, she is HUGE!!! Although she is still jumping on the bed which is pretty high, sometimes I have a problem getting on my bed, especially after DrillMax :)
Although yesterday she jumped up and she started tipping backwards, I guess the weight was pulling her backwards. I had to grab her and pull her up.

OMG ... that is too adorable for words!!! bless her heart!! they are going to have some beautiful babies!!! aaaawwwwww .. she looks like she is gonna be a sweet mommie!!

.. and ROSE .. OMG .. those pics are priceless!!! just wanna grab 'em up and love them!! how precious!!!

I had a Rottie that had 13 puppies .. and we thought she was going to have to have a c-section .. but w/the Doc assist (although none too happy about it b/c it was during the rival football game Auburn v/s Alabama) .. she birthed all 13 .. and w/my assist all of them made it!!

I am trying to get my big babies to breed .. JUST ONCE .. b/c I want a puppy from my two precious babies .. but the female is not cooperating ... we are giving it one more heat cycle .. then give up .. b/c it is mahem at my house when she comes in heat!!:eek:

thanks you two for bringing an "aawwwww" heart warming moment to this day!!
 
My cat Simon is as round as Pepper in the second photo (and he's not pregnant!).

And Pepper's boyfriend is a handsome guy!(Look out Brad Pitt!).Those are going to be some beautiful puppies.
