But SARAH! What about the toe???

Your post was fab, woman, just fab. Can I suggest you submit it to Runner's World or one of those other mags? Seriously, it was a great description of what you experienced both physically and mentally.

Meanwhile, inquiring minds are dying to know what the heck happened to your toe! Was it just a blister? ("Just a blister!" hah!)

BTW, sometime maybe you can post your training schedule for those of us who secretly want to run a marathon but don't know where to start!

Sorry! I didn't think I'd have so many on the edge of their seats!! I just posted this on my other thread but it is getting long and I know many will not check back so here is what I posted:

WARNING NOT FOR THE SQUEEMISH!!WARNING NOT FOR THE SQUEEMISH!!WARNING NOT FOR THE SQUEEMISH!!WARNING NOT FOR THE SQUEEMISH!!
O.k., you've had your caution, if you lose your lunch, it's on your hands! As for my toe...no need to amputate just yet!! The entire 1/3 of my 2nd toe ballooned up into a huge blood blister and it had ruptured around mile 21. The one next to it kind of split but not bad. No clue what that was all about! I have a very high tolerance for pain and I think it pretty much went numb so right now, it's just ugly! I can live with that! Don't know if I can salvage the running sock! My shoe insert is a lot more colorful!

Blood blisters go with the running territory, right? Hideous, but badges of honour all the same! Well done Sarah on your great Marathon success! It was thrilling reading your account. So, next stop Boston?!?!?!?!

Clare

Sarah! I mentioned Boston in your other thread!!!!!

Here's what I posted:

Sarah!!!! I also wanted to add...you are incredibly FAST!! I finished the marathon last year, but I am no where near that fast. That time is amazing. I bet you could qualify for the Boston Marathon! You are one of the elite!!!!!

Have you thought about that??? I bet you qualified!!!!!!!!!!!!!
