I'm back from running errands and getting the last of the preparations for my friends who arrive from the States in a few hours. And I did buy a spare pillow, so now they won't have to share LOL. http://bestsmileys.com/friendly/1.gif

The Feist Meisters are...well, two of them are snoozing, and two of them are scratching their frustrations out on their Kitty Condo. I'm going to take in some breaths and kick back before going to pick up my visitors.

ARISTA - Nice to meet you! BAHA! Hey YOU! We all wondered where you went and missed you terribly. Woo, hoo, do rough life patches always come with houses attached and poundage lost? That's pretty cool! Congratulations! If it helps, I've been around and haven't been talking about exercising or eating right one bit. In fact, I've gone from making long-winded ridiculous posts about my Nintendo DS Lite, to making long-winded ridiculous posts about my squirrels.

And when I say squirrels, I actually mean http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/11.gif http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/2.gif http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/7.gif http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/10.gif kind of squirrels. Two at my place, and two at Mom's place, all siblings, all 12.5 weeks old. They are truly a riot and thrill to have and I've been completely enjoying caring for them and doing little of anything else including looking after my well-being, doing work and cleaning my apartment LMAO.


All right. Off I go. Yoyo and Lulu are such love bugs. When we got the kittens, I was told that Lulu was the friendly one of the bunch, and that Cham was the aloof/timid one, and that does seem to be the case. And I think each sister kind of sways the rather malleable brother with whom they're teamed. Anyway, maybe Lulu's (and now also Yoyo's) cute habits will rub off on Mooch and Cham during our 2.5 week stay all together http://bestsmileys.com/evil/3.gif So far so good - Cham, who never really gave any licking love to Mooch, is now bathing Yoyo. Muwahaha! The experiment has begun!!

Good Morning (?) Haters,

It's actually alot earlier than I'd like to be sitting here......I woke up at 2:30 and haven't been able to get back to sleep. An hour later, here I sit !:-(

No cat baths and teethbrushing here. Call me a coward, but no way is Cleo gonna allow that!

The guys continue to work on the roof each night after work and FINALLY last night got it papered!! Now at least if it rains we should be alright!
They probably can't do anyhing about shingles tonight with a forecast of 100 degrees but when the heatwave lets up some, they should be able to get busy!!!

Jen, ugh about the $$$$ for the a/c !!!!x( I feel your pain!!
We've had so many surprise costs with doing this roof.....we are feeling it !

Hey. No time to post really. I got to work 45 min late b/c I had to drop Ralphie off at the vet for what is, hopefully, his last dip. He'll have a skin scraping and if there are no mites left, then he is DONE!!! I am going to schedule to have him neutered and micro-chipped though.

Aug - I brush Ralphie's teeth and bath him!!!! Bathing a dog is a whole lot easier then bathing a cat. I remember YEARS ago I took a cat from a friend of mine b/c she was going to take it to the pound. Not to sound mean, but I HATED that cat. It was so spooky. Hid behind the couch, never came out etc. I got her as a buddy for my Malaki but he didn't want nothing to do with her. Anyway, the point of my story is, that this cat, Zena was her named, smelled b/c my friend was a smoker and I couldn't stand the stale smoke smell on the poor kitty. So I attempted to bath her. MISTAKE!!!! I even work those thick dish gloves, she was declawed in the front, and I still got scratched up and bit. So, good luck with the baths! HA!!!

Good morning haters,

Everyone seems to be busy this morning and my morning is no exception. I've decided to stop making excuses and just do a DANG WORKOUT every morning. Basically, I'm just getting up earlier (i.e., I'm crabbier). }(

My KPC workout yesterday left me sore this morning (even though I only did 45 minutes of it! - man, I'm out of shape). So maybe just a walk and some yoga...

Dana - Yep, his name is Ryan. And no, we haven't gotten married. We put the house on the top of our priority list and that on the back burner. A bath for a cat? Yowser! I wouldn't ever dream of that with my two boys! :+ Did you get a new puppy or kitty? Ralphie?

Becky - Dang - only 4 hours of sleep! I was feeling sorry for myself after 6.5 hours! Putting a new roof on your house? That's got to be expensive. Closing on our house was about all my finances could take. I'm broke.

August - Yeah, I know it doesn't sounds too bad, huh? A house, a couple pounds... I guess my rough patch in life came with perks. But now I finally feel RELAXED... I don't even have kids, so what am I talking about? Maybe it's all this summer sun, it's finally worked its magic. OR maybe its living in the country again that's done it. It's so peaceful up here. (Northeastern Washington State)

Have fun with your American friends! How long are they staying for? (Sorry, I'm way out of the loop) Are you still playing that village-type video game with the pink poodle?

My birthday's coming up on August 18, and I really don't know how I want to spend it. I'm thinking a quiet weekend at home might not be too bad.

Robin - I hope your upper 80's treat you well. Definitely better than those stinkin' 90's. Is it humid where you live too? Either way, ugh.

Brush my kitty's teeth? http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/1.gif Uh...no. I used to brush my doggies teeth but I found it rather difficult to brush kitty teeth. Their mouths and teeth are so small -- it's hard to do. I've had his teeth cleaned by the vet 2 or 3 times, though -- just whenever the vet thinks it needs to be done. I don't give him baths, either. He does a pretty good job of bathing himself, but I do brush him fairly often.

Robin, are you packed for the RT?

Jen, Ooh, yeah, I remember well how much it costs to fix the AC in my Tahoe :-(. I really hate spending money on things like that. You're so lucky to have built up a savings

Diane -- how ya doing? Have you completed your project? Is your BP staying low?

Dana -- hows little Ralphie doing? I'll keep him in my prayers and I hope he doesn't need any more dips.

Dana - Your boys and your doggie are so precious! What a great family.

Here is a funny story.

I think one of our cats has figured out how to open doors. We have been testing out closing the bedroom door at night to get the cats used to not sleeping in our room (plus the extra weight on top of me is getting uncomfortable at this point). We put the extra tall baby gate up right in front of the door way so that they won't shake the door all night, which works pretty well. Anyway, two times now one of our cats, Sydney, had somehow gotten into the bedroom in the middle of the night. I thought at first that we just didn't close the door all the way, but now that it has happened twice, I am not so sure. She must have jumped on top of the gate (which she can barely manage to jump over anyway - she has to do a pull up to get over the top), balanced there, and then figured out how to turn the knob. Anyway, thought that was funny.

Holy smokes.... ARISTA???? Is that really you? That is me being happy you are back... I am so happy that you came back to hatesville, you were missed!!! Congrats on the house & weight loss!! Yes, you must post pictures for us. Are all the cats doing okay with the move?

August- Yep, I had CJ's teeth cleaned once in the ten years I had her and I'll never do that to a cat again. They put them out while doing it and she was sick for 2 days and could barely walk- I felt like a horrible mom. There is no way in H$LL that I would try to bathe any of the cats I've had, I made that mistake one time and even with long sleeves on I still had claw marks all over my arms. CJ was long haired so I did take her to the goomers once a month and they bathed her and would shave her belly- she loved it, much cooler and easy to use the litter box.

Becky- 4 hours of sleep??? Were you able to take a nap today? Yep, life always has a way of throwing curve balls at you, doesn't it? I try to take it all in stride though, like I told my mom last night there are TONS of other worse things that could happen, I'm not going to get upset or mad over something that regardless of how I react to it will not change. I think working with mortgage brokers for six years has taught me that lesson!!!

Michele- How was the movie? Did you get any popcorn or candy???

Dana- Love the pic of the boys & Ralphie!

Diane- That is strange about the door, isn't it... huh, I don't have a clue how she would do that. Keep us posted on if you figure it out!
