Hi Everyone,

I am sure this has already been asked, but I was wondering for those of you who follow this program, have you had good results with it? I am thinking of ordering, but wanted to get some feedback. TIA

I just ordered this a few weeks ago and I love. I'm not done reading the entire book yet, but I find the author very inspiring. No excuses! Very motivating.

Sarah,
Can you tell us a little more about this "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle"? If this is your Bible, then I need to know a little more about this. You look incredible!

Is it information we don't already know??
Just asking, cause i have Body for Life, Body RX , south beach, abs diet all these books pretty much say the same thing... eat clean, eat more protein, only complex carbs etc...

Just wondering, if it is worth the price is there something new we don't already know??

tia, i need to either take the plunge or never look back!!

I agree, I have those books as well and they do say the same thing. I'm looking for something to motivate me after the fat filled summer I had. Time to get back on track. kdl3125

I have had extremely good results with it. Before I finished the book and before starting the program officially, I am almost at my goal body.

Body for Life is very basic. BFFM is very detailed and explains thoroughly the calorie cycling, and the carbohydrate cycling methods. You may be familiar with the rest of the information, but it is still well explained in detail, and having "everything" in one book is what makes it "the bible" of anyone who wants to fine tune her nutrition.

The best thing about BFFM is that it is inclusive and not biased to a specific mode of training or diet. Many other books only emphasize one type of training or diet as the "one and only" solution to fat loss, and prescribe the same program for everybody. That's what makes BFFM sort of a "text book" on nutrition and fat loss. (There are two chapters on cardio and weight training also.)

You won't regret getting this book. In fact, you will be happy you did.

PS: The first chapter is about goal setting and is very revealing and motivating. He goes to the point, and offer techniques that work. No cheesy pep talks or b.s.

I'm curious too! Is it really informative or as someone stated earlier, is it the same old info. It sounds interesting to me, but I could buy another Cathe DVD or two for the same price. Any thoughts?

Thanks!:D

Count me in amongst the curious. I have read so many books on diet and nutrition--sometimes it all blurs together. I went to the website and I was intrigued, but it gave me the feeling that you get with some of theose infomercials and commercials--you know, like the oxy clean and things like that. As I was skimming through it I kept expecting to see the words "BUT WAIT".

This book is fantastic! As was said, all inclusive and no nonsense.

IMHO, if you're looking for motivation, you have to look within yourself. Although there is some inspiring information, Tom Venuto is big on "NO EXCUSES". You can sleep with this book under your pillow hoping the information will integrate into your psyche and transform your body, but it won't. You must take action in order for it to work!

I can't really answer if it is the same info on other books because I haven't really read the other books. Obviously, I'm sure you know many of the things it says already. I think the only "new" things might be the cycling methods, like I said. But that alone is worth the entire book. If you know how to plan your macronutrient ratios in each meal, according to your target calorie intake for the day, how much fat and what types of fat you should eat in every meal, how much protein you should eat according to your body type and goals, the carb cycling method, and the calorie cycling method already, you probably don't need this book.

Also, the book explains the reasons why you should do what is suggested in the book. For example, why you should eat protein every two and a half to four hours. The reasons themselves motivate you to do the things right, always.

When I bought it, it was only $39. I don't know if the price has increased.

Hi Candi,
Motivation is exactly what I need. I have been in such a slump this summer. Maybe I'll just go for it. It seems there are a number of you fine ladies that have had positive results with it. I have come to trust the opinions of many of you on this forum. Thanks for the input :)

Michele,

You will not be sorry you purchased it. It's more like a text book than a self help book. It contains over 300 pages of great information plus you get several smaller books. One contains recipies.

But, it is an ebook so you would have to print it out. Some of us printed it out and just put the books in a large binder.

I ordered it three weeks ago and it told me a lot of things I didn't know. It is designed to change with each person based on your body type etc. I sat down and figured out my type and started three weeks ago. I have lost three lbs and am seeing definition in my muscles already. I workout 6 days a week for an hour a day. One thing that stuck out to me and seems to be helping is the advice to work out first thing in the morning. The book says it increases your results by 300%, that sounds kinda high to me but it seems to be making a difference for me. I have even had some sweets in the last three weeks and still have lost. I did low carb and lost 35lbs but if I ate any sugar I could gain a lb in a day which really set me back as far as my attitude goes. Sorry so long but I guess I am saying I highly recommend it! :7

I've reread all the posts on this book and the only thing I've learned that the book tells you is it will tell you what ratios to eat and that its great. What does it say about what workouts to do and for how long? It just seems like all the posts talk about how great it is but no specifics as to why.

Still though, I'm tempted to buy it :) I AM currious about what it has to say about workouts...like how much cardio, lifting heavy or light etc.

Cbelle, the book really is great, I agree...we are being vague as to "why" it is so great but that is only because there are so many reasons. It does tell you what to eat, how to eat, how much cardio, how much weights, how much water, how much sleep, how much fat, carbs and proteins and when...

The beautiful thing about the book is those answers are NOT the same for every person and body type. Tom teaches you how to figure out what your body type is and THEN suggests all of the above based on your own body type. It's going to vary from person to person. He also teaches where to start, how to track your progress and how to make needed changes based on that progress.

I have heard only a few people here not like the book because they say it is stuff we already know. Personally, I learned a lot! The first few chapters are extremely motivating. I have always thought "goal setting" was hokey, but his technics really paid off!
