Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle

by body type, do you mean endomorph etc? I downloaded this book about 3 years ago and have since gone thru several computers. I'm hoping its still on one of our old ones the kids have now.....I've totally forgotten all about it (clearly)

and how hard have you found it to stick with this? I've been on a downward diet spiral all year long going from one thing to another for so long I'm about to give up! what about cheat days/meals?

I do not eat clean 100% of the time, if that is what you mean.LOL!!! As far as following the eating program overall...no problems following it...second nature, really.

Great news! Tom encourages a weekly cheat meal...maybe up to 3 a week if your body can handle it. He highly discourages cheat days, though.

Cbelle,

Workouts are important and yes, he does give various recommendations on how and when to work out. I interpreted your comments as "who cares about eating, I want to know about workouts". Eating properly is 80% of your results so I wouldn't just write that off. And I am certainly not trying to twist your arm to buy the book...just wanted to share what I thought was a wealth of information that Catheites would appreciate.

You do sound frustrated but I worry that your question is "how many cheat meals do I get". IMHO, until you change your mindset and think of eating as a way to maintain your health you will probably continue to slide down that spiral but no one can do that but you!

I cannot tell you word for word what's in the book because I am bound by privacy agreement but these are the chapters. Draw your own conclusion.

I realize that diet is a huge part of the equation. Not sure where you got the impression all I cared about were the workouts. I just hadnt heard anyone say antying about what he recommends and was wondering.

Like Sarah said, there are too many things we forget to mention because the book is so long and has so much info. In fact, it is quite repetitive, but that's a good thing because that way you remember everything and that's also because each chapter can be read as an independent unit.

Like Sarah said, and I forgot to mention earlier, he teaches how to track your progress and, most important, EXACTLY WHAT ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE according to your recorded results. That is very valuable. I cannot stress enough how illuminating this information is. It teaches you, practically how to be your own nutritionist and fat loss coach! I'm not saying that nutritionists and personal trainers are not useful, but if you can't afford one, BFFM is definitely an option.

Cbelle,

This comment is where I got that impression:

"I've reread all the posts on this book and the only thing I've learned that the book tells you is it will tell you what ratios to eat and that its great. What does it say about what workouts to do and for how long?"

Maybe it's just my interpretation.
