DOES ANYONE KNOW THE FORMULA THAT BURN THE FAT FEED THE MUSCLE USES TO CALCULATE YOUR DAILY CALORIC INTAKE TO LOSE 2 POUNDS OF FAT PER WEEK? ANY OTHER INFO ON THIS BOOK WOULD BE GREAT ALSO, I REALLY WANT TO PURCHASE IT BUT DO NOT HAVE A HOME COMPUTER I CAN USE TO READ THE BOOK.

I read the book and it's my understanding that he wants you to eat 15% less than your maintenance calories and lose the fat by using the remainder of calories through exercise. Otherwise to lose 2lbs per week you would have to eat 1000 calories less per day. Eating that little would reduce your metabolism.

The Harris-Benedict Formula in his book is based on total body weight.

Women: BMR=655+(9.6xwt in kg) + (1.8x ht in cm) - (4.7 x age in years)

Note 1 inch = 2.54 cm
1kilogram=2.2lbs

You multiply that number by your activity factor.
sedentary-1.2
lightly active-1.375
mod active -1.55

I hope this helps.

question

So when I do that calcualtion my total is 2315 calories a day for maintenance although i would say i am more than mod active i work out 6 days a week. Anyway according to his calculatin i should cut out 347 calories a day and I will lose fat? or cut out 694 calories and lose 2 pounds of fat per week?

You would cut 347 calories and increase activity by 653 calories perday.
moderate active is 3-5 days week
1.725 is very active 6-7 days week
1.9 is hard daily exercise 2 times day training and physical job.

He wants you to mostly lose by increased activity. Three to six days of cardio. But as little as it takes for you to lose no more than 2lbs per week. In addition to lifting heavy.

For most people the caluculations come to about 1600 cals a day for fatloss, zigzagging every fourth day with about 2000cals for one day.

I highly recommend getting the bodyfat calipers and learn how to use them and read results because when you are lifting heavy and trying to loose fat at the same time you may not see your progress reflected right by using the scale only. For example, I only lost 1lb last month eating strictly clean and within my calories, but combined with the body fat calipers it turned out that in fact I had lost fat, but I had also gained 1.5 lbs in muscle and so the fatloss was not reflected because it was replaced by muscle weight. With the 1lb weight loss I actually also lost 2%body fat. If it didn't have the calipers to tell me this I would have assumed I had hit a plateau or done something wrong.

I hope that helps!

I'm trying to locate this book. Is "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" the correct title? Does anyone know who the author is? Thanks.
