Building Muscle

My present workout schedule is four 45 minute cardio sessions/week with various Cathe tapes and Muscle Max once/week. If I add one or two muscle groups per day from the Gym Style series, would I build more muscle and definition if I work up to the weight that Cathe uses in her videos. I don't like using the machines at the gym and was hoping to build muschle by free weights.

Cathe, you look great and was wondering if the weight you use in the Gym Style Series is the weight you train with to look so good. Right now, I use 5 - 8 pounds less than what you lift in that series depending on the exercise. My muscles are tone, but I would like to build more muscle and definition as I have a small frame 4' 11" and 98 pounds.

All ideas welcome.
Thanks so much
Lina

I am bumping this because I would love to hear Cathe's reply to this or the experience of others.

Thanks,
Davida

I would be very curious to know exactly what Cathe's workout routine is like. She has mentioned on other posts that she teaches several classes per week and trains each body part about once per week. Does she train them in a similar manner to the excercises in her DVD's or does she use completely different methods. I also wonder what kind of excercises she includes in here core routines, because she has the most incredible abs I'v ever seen!!! Maybe she is genetically pre-disposed to build muscle really easily?

Cathe, if you read this and have a few extra minutes, could you give us a breakdown of your training routines? I know that all of us would LOVE to know what you do to get such amazing muscle definition.

Thanks,

Ady

I too would be most interested in learning Cathe's workout routines and schedule but in addition I would love to learn more about her diet. I know she must eat clean at least 99.9% of the time to look so fabulous. Cathe, please share your info with us :)

Below is a reply Cathe posted on Ask Cathe: Cathe Workout dated April 6th. Hope this helps.

Thank You Lilita! It always varies for me but overall I average an hour a day 5 to 6 days a week.

I like to do either one body part per day along with 5 to 6 cardio workouts ranging from 30 to 45 minutes. I also like to do splits (ie: back and bi's, chest and tri's etc.) with the same cardio as listed above.

Currently I teach one boot camp, one advanced step, one high step, and one senior class weekly. Based on how much I participated, I'll factor any of these first three as a cardio/endurance workout.

I don't go nuts on dieting. I like to eat clean most of the time but that doesn't mean I don't cheat. Sometimes I cheat as much as once a day. I know my body very well, and have a good idea of when I can get away with cheating and when I am going to have to pay for it

Take Care!

:)
