Buff Badgers Week of Sept. 19th

Sorry I didn't check in much last week. I just had a lot going on. It is amazing how being emotionally drained just zaps all your energy out of you. The weather has been in the 60's the last few days.

This morning was the cardio blast premix of Drill Max and felt really good to workout today. I also got in two sets of 1 minute planks.

Good morning! I got to work early today to make some copies and thought I'd check in.

Heartymax- Emotional exhaustion is the worst there is. I'm glad you felt good today, and I hope this whole week goes better for you.

Friday I did Rhythmic Step :D Yes, I love it. It's what I was looking for: 60 minutes of steady state, medium impact, super-fun step. I just loved it.

Saturday I did Jari's Ripped & Chiseled.

Sunday I did Rhythmic Step again :p I just had to try and get everything mastered. Almost. For some reason I don't see the triples around the step coming. I don't think I've gotten them once in the completed combo. Anyway don't be surprised if you see RS show up once or twice more this week!

Have a great Monday.

Hello ladies! Saturday was a 7.25 mile run. I finished in 63mn. Not too bad but hope to improve. Sunday was my rest day of sorts. Lots of house work to do. This morning was S90 Cardio Challenge. That was fun!:D

Sam, glad you are enjoying RS. My favorite part is the end when she puts it all together.

Heartymax, glad to see you are back to your workouts. How are those planks working for you? I think you'll see a difference over time. I had a bad back until I did P90X. About a month into it I noticed by back no longer bothered me and I think it was due to all the core/back exercises I was doing!

Check back later~ have a nice day!
Susan

Sorry guys. I've been unable to post much. This is my busiest time of year and won't get better for another month. I did 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme Kickboxing on Saturday, rest on Sunday (again!) and 4 Leslie Fat Burning Miles this morning. Yesterday I took the time I could have spent working out taking DD16 out to practice driving and parallel parking. It must have worked because she PASSED! :). I'm so proud of her. Have to leave soon for work so I hope everyone has a great Monday.

This morning was STS Disc 1, chest, shoulders and biceps followed by butts and gutts stability ball abs.

Sue---Congrats to DD!

Susan---WOW-----over 7 miles already. You are really up for the challenge.

Sam---I'm glad you are enjoying your new workout. It is so much fun an one of my favorites. It has awesome music.

Laurie---I was in Target this weekend and was thinking about picking up Jillians' 6 pack abs and they were all gone. I don't need to spend any money anyway. I guess I will start my Christmas list. That will be a perfect inexpensive gift for one of the boys to purchase for their money. I didn't see S90 either nor did I see a space where they were selling it so I am not sure if it was ever being sold at the Target here.

Hello! Today was 4.5 mile run and then a 30mn walk with the dog. Hope to get in some nice stretching when I get home- I sure could use it!:)

Sue, congrats to DD for getting her license!:D Must have been your awesome teaching skills!

Heartymax, I found my S90 in Target under there "As Seen on TV" section over in sporting goods. I also saw it in the new Collage Video catalog I got in
the mail. Looks like you had a good workout this morning!:)

Have a great day ladies!

Susan

Good morning!

Yesterday I did Ripped to the Core, and this morning I took the dog for a 40 minute walk, not really an aerobic walk, but brisk-ish :). I intend to do some cardio later.

Sue- Congrats on DD passing! I bet she's excited.

Susan- That's my favorite part, too :)

Heartymax- I'm glad I'm not the only one mentally putting workout videos on my Christmas list!

We've realized that Elliot is much better behaved when he gets two walks a day, so at least I and DH will get a little more activity in. I was grumpy about getting up to walk him at 5 a.m. this morning, but it was actually peaceful and energizing to walk at that time of the morning... even in my city neightborhood.

Have a great day, everyone.

Morning Ladies,

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I was at the race again. What a horrible day Sunday was. Spent most of the time on the bus that took us to the track. We where there until they called the race. :( I was able to finish a James Patterson book! We didn't want our tickets to go to waste, so we went down on Monday. Ton of fun, but it wasn't really warm.

Workouts where Xtreme Upper Body and Recovery Lower Body on Saturday, Sunday was a rest day. Yesterday I didn't get a workout in because we needed to leave the house by 5:30am. This morning I did Xtreme Upper Body and Recovery Upper Body. The Recovery workouts are her 10ln Slimdown workouts. So far I have liked the two workouts of those that I have done also. :)

heartymax, Sorry to hear that you couldn't find the S90 at your Target store. I was at Target on Friday and they had one copy. Not that I was going to buy it. :D I did buy two new Billy Blanks workouts though. Target is EVIL!

Sam, Glad that you enjoyed your ventures with RS. I had a really hard time with that one (uncoordinated). I think that I have only done that workout once, and that will probably be the only time. :D I really love walking our dog early in the morning. I walk mine at 4:30am You can meet some interesting animals at that time.

Susan, I love that Cardio Challenge workout. Good job on the 7.25 mile run.

Sue, Congrats to your DD! It is so much better when they are able to get themselves to functions.

Have a wonderful day!

Heartymax - Targets around here keep the exercise DVDs with all the workout gear instead of by the movie DVDs. That's where I saw S90 in case that helps. I see you're doing STS. Are you doing a 90 day rotation or something else?

Sam - Is Elliot doing better? It took me a few tries to learn RS cuz my brain feels like it can only absorb so much new stuff.

Susan - Glad to see you're enjoying S90. You are a running machine!

Laurie - Did you buy 10 Pound SD Xtreme or are you using ExTV and the original set you own?

Just finished 10 Pound SD Xtreme Total Body and Buns. I figured out which weights to use and really enjoyed the Total Body workout.

Time for bed! Have a good night all.

Good morning!

Sue- Elliot is doing great. Now we just have normal puppy stuff to deal with. Now that we've got him walking well on a leash, he's able to use some of that boundless energy every day.

Laurie- It's funny. I'm a huge klutz in normal life. I drop my chalk all the time, have bruises on my legs form running into stuff, and stub my toes almost daily. But.... put a step in front of me and I become an elegant, graceful creature :) I can't explain it. I was telling DH I should keep a step in my classroom. Sorry your Sunday was a huge bummer. At least you got to finish a book!

I did the first half of Imax 2 yesteday. I was tempted to do the rest but I had stuff to do. I consider Imax 2 my fitness test, and I'm doing better. But, man; that blast with the genie hops goes on FOREVER!

I'm going to rest today. I may do a yoga or a stretch, but nothing strenuous.

Have a great day!

Morning Ladies,

10 lb Slimdown Xtreme Kickboxing and Recovery Upper Body for me this morning.

Sue, I have been using Exercisetv for all the workouts. I ordered the set, and it shipped out yesterday. I'm hoping that I get it before the end of the week, but we will see. :D I'm having a ton of fun with these workouts, and I'm planing on using them in my next rotation. Glad you where able to find weights that worked for you on the Total Body. ;)

Sam, You are right those hops are never ending. I have a hard time jumping on one leg. I can handle simple step workouts, the more complicated then I get frustrated.

Have a great day!

Hi gang. Yesterday I started to come down with a "bug" but I muddled through the day. I woke early today and did S90 Legs. That is a really good lower body workout! Now I am starting to feel worse as the day goes on. I am supposed to wake up early and run 5 miles but I may let myself sleep in....

laurie, Those workouts sound like you are having a great time! Isn't it fun to find not only something new, but that you like as well?? Sorry your weekend didn't turn out as planned!

Sam, I wish I could walk Ruby twice a day...I tell myself to but then get too busy.Glad he's feeling better!

Sue, sounds like you and Laurie are going to have all us looking into these workouts!

Can't wait to get home and crawl into bed!

Have a good night~ Susan

Hi all! Actually checked in earlier today but somehow it got erased

This school year is going to be incredibly busy so I hope I can check in at least a couple of times a week. This week i´ve done GS timesavers and got in a run.

Susan, your long run time is great! When is your 1/2? I think half of WI has that "bug" I´m going to bed early, too!

Laurie, who does the Xtreme body workouts?

Sam, haven´t done Imax in a while...and I REALLY dislike those genie hops!

Sue, Congrats on DD and her license! Fun times ;)

heartymax, looks like you´ve recovered from your mental exhaustion...seeing your workouts!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Today was STS back and biceps.

Sue---haven't really decided on whether I am doing a rotation or not...I started with week 1 and then took all last week off so I am starting again with week 1. I will just see how it goes. I enjoyed the break from STS so it is fun again this time.

lala---the beginning of the school year is always so tiring and busy with trying to get my kids back in the routine and having to monitor homework all over again.

Susan---you are strong----I can't imagine lifting weights when I am under the weather.

Laurie---you are the rotation guru:D

Sam---so glad to hear that Elliott is feeling great! Even with his energy, I am sure it is nice to see him up and bouncing around after that long illness.

Hello there. When the alarm went off at 4:15 I knew I was not going to be running and reset my alarm for an extra 1+ hour of sleep. Glad I did. My throat is pretty bad today. Looks like it'll be a rest day...

Lala, I have no set half in mind yet. Right now I am thinking of the 5 mile turkey trot and want to better my time from last year. If anything I am thinking of running the Fox Cities Half ( next September!!)

Heartymax, glad you are having fun again. Sometimes rotations can get monotonous so it helps if you're having fun.

I have been stuck at a plateau since I stopped P90X and I still would like to lose 5-6 pounds by Thanksgiving. I decided I need to re-vamp my eating. I tend to eat little to nothing for breakfast(too busy) and then a hearty lunch so I am switching that up by eating a healthy breakfast and taking less for lunch and then a light supper. I like that I bring my own food and not eat out like other co-workers of mine. It helps me stay on track...

Hope this bug is gone by the weekend! Who wants to be sick on a Saturday??

Take care~ Susan

Morning Ladies,

Xtreme Yoga and Recovery Upper Body for me today. I'm all caught up from my Monday off. :D

Susan, Hope that you start feeling better fast. What you are describing is something that I have been hearing from a lot of people. Has not hit our work yet, but I'm sure that it will. I always bring something for my lunch also, it is so much cheaper and healthier. ;) Yes I am having fun with these workouts.

Lala, GS Timesavers are good ones. I love the leg workout. ;) The 10lb Slimdown Xtreme workouts are done by Chris Freytag. She usually does intermediate workouts. I would say these are Int/Adv. She is really upbeat in these workouts, and there is one thing she says in the kickboxing workout that makes me smile. As you are doing the knee crunches, she says "just like your grabbing her ponytail and smashing it into your knee" then "Just Kidding" :D

heartymax, Guess it is hard for teachers to get back into the routine of school too. ;) This rotation is only 28 days, so I feel that I will not get to bored with these workouts before then.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning! The weekend is gettng closer!

Susan- Your eating plan sounds similar to mine right now. I'm still having trouble with evening eating (and drinking ) and sometimes afternoon munching as well. I hope you feel better soon. I can't believe it's getting to be the time of the year for sicknesses already.

Laurie- That quote of Chris's is cute. How much is this set? It sounds like a good, versatile one to have around.

Heartymax- Yes, it's good to see Elliot healthy. He's not too crazy when he's on his own, but when my toddler's around, it gets a little nuts.

Lala- It's so hard to adjust to the school year schedule, isn't it? It's good you could get some workouts in.

I planned a day off yesterday which was good because TTOM arrived  and I felt crummy all morning. Then I had a meeting at school in the evening. Whenever I have something in the evening, I'm always too keyed up to go to bed when I should and end up staying up too late. I did that, and also had three glasses of wine (!!!). I should know better, but having more than a glass or two of wine aggravates my insomnia, and since I'm not supposed to take Ambien with alcohol... well, you get the idea. I was tossing and turning until almost 1, and was up at 5:30 (but should've been up earlier). Surprisingly, I don't feel too bad, so we'll see what kind of workout I can make myself do.

Have a great day, everyone!

Morning Ladies,

Xtreme Total Body and Recovery Core for me. First time doing the recovery core workout, and I liked this one too. :D Glad that I'm getting these workouts on DVD. ;)

Sam, I got in on the presale for this set, and it was $45. Now I think it is $56, but from what I understand they are going to be offering it on QVC. Don't know when that will be. Hope you are doing better today, and that you got in some sleep. :)

Only thing planned for this weekend is dinner at the in-laws on Sunday. Apparently his Dad has been complaining of pain in his legs, but will not go to the doctor. He has high blood pressure, diabetes and of course he had that stroke about 19 years ago. That time is burned into my memory, because I was pg with my oldest at that time. ;) Of course all the complaining is making my MIL stresses. :( This may or may not be a good dinner. :(

Have a great weekend everyone!

Laurie - I ordered the set, too, but didn't get in on the presale price. Rats! Haven't tried any of the Recovery workouts yet. Will have to check it out. I hope Sunday dinner is pleasant and stress-free.

Sam - Hope you caught up on sleep and have a nice, relaxing weekend.

Susan - Hope that bug is gone by now so you can enjoy the weekend. I would LOVE to be stuck at your plateau. ;) You have the drive and determination to meet your goal so I'm sure you'll make it by Thanksgiving.

Heartymax - I'm going to re-visit STS one these weeks/months, too. It's hard for me to commit to a rotation so I get seeing how it goes.

Lala - Nice to hear from you. Why does it seem like September and October are so busy and then March and April are hardly busy at all? Or maybe that's just me! GS Timesavers are great workouts.

Hi, Karen!

I jogged/walked 3 miles in 41 minutes yesterday morning. Nothing yet today.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I couldn't get in a workout yesterday, but I did manage a short nap ;) I planned on doing Muscle Max after dinner, but DH got home so late that after dinner ended up being 7:30, and by then I was too pooped.

Now I feel like I need cardio AND weights, so I plan on doing Cardio & Weights! :D I'm just waiting for DS to settle down to sleep. I do feel much better today.

Tonight DH and I are going to Olive Garden to use a couple gift cards and then going to an old friend's house for drinks with some other couples. Tomorrow we're going out for dinner again with some people DH works with who have started their own business, and would like to talk to us about being involved with it. Should be interesting.

DS is quiet, so I will take my chance to get to the basement. Have a good weekend everyone. Laurie, I'll be thinking of you at what sounds like a tense dinner!
