Buff Badgers Week of March 7th

Hope everyone had a great weekend. On Saturday, I did Shred level 2 then 3 as planned. I took a rest day on Sunday. This morning I started Meso 2 with Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I felt a burn as I exhausted each muscle group before moving to the next. I lowered the weights or did 2 less reps as needed. It is definitely pushing it to another level.

I enjoyed recovery week----if that is what it was;) I believe those mountain climbers from Shred is what had my hamstrings singing to me last week.

Gotta run! Enjoy your day.

Good Morning,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Did lots of snowshoeing over the weekend. Yesterday I did a segment from Jillians new Rip in 30 workout and Sat. I did a bosu workout. Today I did STS disk 22,

Heartymax, nice job on your workout this morning. Gotta love those mountain climbers.

First playoff game in basketball tonight for DS13. DD18, DS 16 and 15 start track tonight.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi there! I had a pretty relaxing weekend. Saturday I got on the elliptical for a hill repeat workout for 45mn then did some ab work. Sunday was my rest day. Today I will be doing Kick,Punch,Crunch. Looking forward to it.

Heartymax, congrats on starting a new Meso! I am not a big fan of those mountain climbers. I am so happy when they are done!

Karen, I have never snow-shoed! Actually I'll be happy when there is not snow to "shoe!";) Looks like we are going to be getting another big storm on Wednesday! Why can't it just leave us alone??

Hope the rest of you ladies had a good weekend! I better go get to work!

Take care and have a good day! Susan

Hi! Saturday I did a walk/run through my lovely city ;) Today was STS 16 I think (meso 2, week 2). I had to lower the weights for my chest, tho. I had it marked that previously I did 61# with the BB but today, I couldn't even lift that :p I don't have the tower and probably won't get one...so I'll stick with dbs.

HM: enjoy meso 2, it really does challenge you! I think I see the most change with this cycle

Karen, it looked like you and your family had a fun weekend! and in addition, you got in some good workouts!

Susan, Your Sat. workout looks good, and I really like KPC!

Hi Laurie and Sue

Off to make some "Chicago style" pizza!

Today was Step Moves followed by a segment of Abs.

lala---you are strong! 61 lbs for chest work in Meso 2! WOW!

Karen---is the Jillian ripped in 30 an Ab workout? She like her ab work in Shred.

Susan---It is great to have a relaxing weekend with some fun workouts too! Glad you enjoyed it!

Hi Laurie and Sue!

Morning Ladies,

No workout for me yet today, I was just so dang tired from the long drive yesterday. It was nice to see all the relatives yesterday, and of course to see my parents. My Dad has Bell's Palsy, and was having some nerve pain in his face. Really hard to see him having to go through that. He is doing really well, he has lost some weight because his diet has had to get better.

heartymax, WTG on starting the Meso 2 round, glad you are feeling the burn.

Karen, So how did you like the Ripped in 30? I have not gotten that workout yet.

Susan, KPC away! Have a great time with your workout.

Lala, That is a lot of weight for the chest.

Have a great day!

Hello there! Today is pilates for an hour. DS is home sick with a bad cold. :( Hope to get him back on track fast.

Heartymax, I have not done Step Moves in a lifetime! I really should pull out some of her older step cause they are fun to do!

Another winter storm heading our way tonight. Not a happy person! I keep telling myself that one day it will be July and all this white stuff will be gone! I'll be in shorts and a tank top enjoying the heat!

Have a great day! Susan

Heartymax - I'm definitely going to be taking it easier in my recovery week than you did! LOL

Karen - From basketball now to track - it just never ends does it? How did you like the new Jillian w/o? Your skiing pictures look like so much fun. Going to have to go again sometime.

Susan - I'm with you on wanting the snow to leave us alone. Hope DS feels better soon.

Lala - I definitely take rest days. The week before I took 2 rest days which is why it seemed I had so many w/o days in a row. Yesterday was a rest day in fact. It was supposed to be today but my body has been fatigued and I didn't get to bed early enough the night before. How is your spring break going? We don't have ours until after Easter.

Laurie - DH's uncle had Bells Palsy. I confess I don't know anything about it except it made his face look like 1 side was frozen. That's not the first thing you noticed about him though since he lost half his arm (from the elbow down) in WWII. Never stopped him from doing anything though.

Did KCM Cardio Blast Athletic Step on Saturday. Also shoveled, did housework and some walking in Madison. We won 4 Badger hockey tickets in a silent auction at Flamingo Friday on Friday for $30. The game was Saturday night (which is probably why we won they so cheap) and we had dinner on State St. before the game but don't know our way around very well so ended up taking the roundabout way to get there. The game was a lot of fun and the Kohl Center is NICE. First time I've been there.

Sunday was STS Disc #9 (legs). I did the bonus legwork - except I cheated on those paper plate hamstring exercises. My plates wouldn't slide when I did 2 legs at a time. Did the extended stretch, too but my inner thighs are still sore. Ouch! Tonight is cardio and tomorrow is STS Disc #10.

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY!

Hi,

Today I did STS disk 24. My leg is really hurting and I can't figure out why. Can't sit down with any pressure on my leg. Can't do much. Wish I knew what it could be. Pinched nerve? Don't have insurance right now either.

The new Jillian was ok. Same as all her stuff.

Sue, sounds like you had a nice weekend.

Susan, hope DS gets well quickly. I don't want any snow either.

Laurie, I'll bet it was hard to see your dad go through that.

heartymax, the Jillian workout I just got is a circuit. Nice job on the step.

Lala, seems I am always lowering my weights when I do STS.

Have a good day.

Morning Ladies,

Today was Disc 34 Chest & Back. Feeling much better this morning as far as energy goes. ;) Took me a long time to get to work this morning, I thought we where suppose to be getting just rain.

Susan, I'm ready for the weather to change also. This past weekend all those forest animals started coming out, dang skunks! :)

Sue, My Dad's face is like that also, almost like he had a stroke. He has medication that he is having, apparently it is an infection that can reapear. I have never been to the Kohl's Center, but have heard that it is very nice.

Karen, Dang on the leg, hope that you are able to find out what is going on. My Dad has been going through a lot of illness ever since he first got MS. Alot of it has to do with that I'm sure.

Have a great day!

Karen - What part of your leg hurts? Sounds like I'll pass on the new Jillians. I have enough of her stuff already.

Laurie - I wasn't thrilled about the snow this morning either (see below). Disc #34, huh? I can't wait to get that far in STS. It's not that I'm not liking STS. I'll just feel such a sense of accomplishment when I get there. :)

Well, the weather forecasters were WRONG! They said we'd have a rain/snow mix changing over to rain but when I woke up this morning I had 3 inches of snow in my driveway and no time to shovel! Had an early meeting so DH shoveled my side real quick. No workout for me yet today. Did Intensity Step premix last night. Will do STS Disc #10 tonight.

Hi! Yesterday I did a 4.6 mi run. It was so nice out! Now it´s still snowing!!
Today was disk 17 legs, abs from low intensity step 4DS, and a reeeaaallllyyy slow 25 minute ride on the bike...trying to make up for all that I ate yesterday:(

Hey, Sue, I forgot til today that yesterday was FAT Tues....I did my part ;):(:( My break is just OK...no going anywhere and actually spending a lot of time on lesson prep for the rest of the year. After Easter...that´s a long time yet!

Laurie, Glad you´re feeling more energetic. It´s hard to watch loved ones struggle with health problems.

Karen, Not a dr. (;)) but it is very possibly a pinched nerve. I´ve been to docs for leg pain, xrays, etc and they did find the culprit, but not a lot to do about it. :( Maybe you can just do a search on webmd o mayo clinic or something to give suggestions.

Susan, hope DS gets better soon. DD 22 has been fighting a cold for a long while.

Heartymax...yea, 61 lbs IS a lot...that´s why I couldn´t lift it

Hello Ladies. Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. On Tuesday, I took a nap after work because I was tired and ended up going to bed late. My chest was still fried from Mondays workout. My legs were feeling like I had a leg workout and I had not done one for over a week. Well---I listened to my body and took a rest day on Wednesday and picked up with STS legs this morning. I like the tri-set concept. I get my weights together and I know that is it for the next few minutes. I just can' t seem to get my form down properly with those side sliding lunges.

Susan---Step Moves in the new workout. I think you are referring to Step Max. Step Moves is okay. I just don't like the music which I am sure you have heard me complain about before. I like it more than Athletic Step, but just not a favorite like Body Max, Drill Max:D

Sue---I just told my husband last night that maybe I should have taken it easier during my recovery week. Cathe is the expert and she recommends it...shows she is smarter than me.:D Anyway, with just 3 days of cardio during the 4 weeks I just thought it would be a chance for me to do some extra cardio.

lala---I bet your bike ride was slow after an STS leg workout. I can barely walk---can't imagine a slow ride.

Karen---keep an eye on that leg.

Laurie----glad your energy is back.

Morning Ladies,

This morning I did Supreme 90 Legs, really do like this workout.

Sue, You are almost done with Meso 1, that is so great. I sure do like getting to change through the phases. It amazes me how the forcasters can say the weather is going to be this. Even with all there technology they can't predict what will happen. :D

Lala, A bad eating day for you, but WTG on the exercise. ;)

heartymax, Those workouts are challenging you, that is so great. WTG on listening to your body, if you don't it will probably lead to injury. I like the tri-sets also, makes the breaks go faster when you have to get your weights ready.

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies! Did not get computer time yesterday! My workout was Bootcamp. Today I am doing PlyoX.

DS is much better. Can't keep a kid with that much energy down for long!

Heartymax, you were smart to listen to your body and yes, next rest week, get more REST! :)

Karen, how is your leg? Is it in the back that it's bothering you (hamstring?). Are you able to stretch it at all?

Lala, boy, you sure made up for your "bad" eating! Good job! I am so looking forward to our Spring Break (2 weeks away!) I do have a long weekend this weekend though, so that'll be nice!

Sue, we had about 4" of heavy wet snow yesterday too. I was not happy, but now the roads are pretty clear. I made DH clean it up this time! I am done with snow!

You all have a good day! Susan

Back and Biceps this morning. Had to back of the deadlifts for the back a little bit because yesterday was legs and the hamstrings were feeling it. With that in mind, should my form be different for deadlifts for legs than back? I have always wondered that.

Laurie----sounds like you are enjoying Supreme 90. Just wondering what Cathe workout it may be compared to....if any?

karen--hope your leg is better.

Susan and lala----our spring break is so late this year. It is the 3rd week of April.....I guess I will hope for much better weather then though!!

Have a great weekend ladies.

Morning Ladies,

This morning I did S90 Tabata Inferno, really do enjoy this workout.

Susan, Two great workouts back to back! Glad to hear that you ds is better, they sure do bounce back fast don't they. ;)

heartymax, I don't know that there is any difference with deadlifts. I have always wondered why in one workout they are for legs and another for back. You use your lower back and hammies either way. :D There really is not Cathe workout that really compares to S90. Maybe Supersets somewhat. That is a total body, but somewhat the same concept.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Laurie - As much as I'm enjoying STS right now, I'm eager to try S90. :D I've only done the 1 cardio w/o but maybe I'll try that Tabata one. If you like it though, I'm sure it's tough. ;) Oh, well. I know how to modify.

Susan - Great workouts! You have an early spring break, too. Ours isn't until the last week in April. Not that it really matters to me - I'll be working anyway. Do you have any plans for spring break?

Lala - Hope you had a good week off.

Karen - How's the leg? Any skiing or other sports this weekend?

I did STS Disc 10 this morning which I was supposed to do on Wednesday so I'm 2 days behind. Been in a funk lately with too much going on, getting to bed late and then too tired to get up early. I need a day off (sigh). A true day off with no running around where I can do whatever I want. Aaaahh! That would be heaven. I'm sure we could all use one of those, right? ;)

HI there! Today is Shred- all levels!

Sue, so far no big plan for the break. Hopefully getting lots of rest though!:)

Heartymax, in my opinion, when I do deadlifts for my hams, I keep my legs much straighter than I do when doing them for back. I keep a slight bend in my knee when doing them for my back. I also really focus on pulling up through my lower back. If my legs are straighter, its working my hammy more.

Gotta go pick up the kids!

Have a great weekend! Susan
