Buff Badgers Week of August 27th

Had a great weekend. Did some shopping for myself to spice up my wardrobe a little bit. Went to an former co-workers birthday party on Saturday and had dinner with my family on Sunday. DS 14 starts high school today. He is excited/nervous. I hope things go well. He has football practice and I have a class on Mondays starting today for the next few weeks so I won't get to hear about it until late. DS10 is ready to go back to school also so there was excitement in the air in our house yesterday.

No workouts this weekend as I got up early to do some chores/errands instead of working out. This morning was Low Impact Circuit---the music in this workout really gets you going.

Have a great day everyone! Mondays are going to be long days for me so don't be surprised if I don't check in on Tuesdays.

Good morning everyone. Friday I woke up sore and exhausted and skipped my workout. Saturday was Jari's Ripped and Chiseled (hadn't done that one in awhile. My biceps are SORE today!), and Sunday was a 40 minute run/walk with the dog.

No workout today. I went to bed late, and then it took me longer than it should have to fall asleep. It's okay, though, I'm still pretty sore from Saturday's workout

Crossfire arrived on Saturday! I previewed it, and I have to admit that I'm a bit nervous about trying it. It looks fun (love the music!), but TOUGH! Actually, it looks a lot like the first workout we did on the Road Trip. :)

I did some serious jeans shopping yesterday. Usually I just buy my jeans at Old Navy or Target and they end up shrinking in the wash, or I settle for something I don't like very much or that's sort of uncomfortable. So I decided to shop at the mall department stores and maybe spend a bit more money. I got a really nice pair for $28 because there were so many sales on jeans. I also found another pair that was much more expensive, and I'm going to see if I can find it online for cheaper.

Heartymax- I hope your DS has a great first day! At least if your long days are Mondays, they're over with right away every week :)

Have a great day! I have to admit it feels a little bittersweet not to be heading back to school today...

Hi Ladies!!

I had a very nice weekend. Saturday I did do Cardio Super Sets with the bonus step. Then I had to get ready to run into town to get my grocery shopping done because as soon as I got home and got situated we were in the car on our way down to Kenosha for my DH's niece's wedding. It was a very nice wedding. She made a beautiful bride. It was a long day so thankfully Sunday was my no workout day.

Today was week 4 of Meso 1 Disc 10, chest, shoulders, and biceps.

Heartymax - You'll have to let us know how DS first day was. I can imagine he was nervous and excited at the same time. Good for you for spicing up your wardrobe.

Sam - When I first did Crossfire, I thought of the Road Trip as well. It kind of put me in the moment. I think you'll love it. It is tough, you just take the extra break when you need it. Some of the tabata portions, I have to give myself a few extra seconds and it play it back to start the blast from the beginning. Still love it!!

Everyone have a great evening!
Brenda

Good morning. I had a tough bout of insomnia last night and after four hours of sleep, I just couldn't get up at 5:15. I'm really irritated because I was sleeping so well, and now I've had two bad nights in a row. I even tried using an app for insomnia on my phone that uses visualization techniques for falling asleep. I was really relaxed while it was on, felt sleepy, but as soon as it ended I was wide awake.

Brenda- I always have to remind myself that it's my workout and if I have to take breaks it's okay. I tend to get intimidated and think that if I can't do it "as written" I haven't really done the workout. Weddings always make for a long day. I love them, though. Everyone's always so happy at a wedding.

Have a great day, everyone.

Morning Ladies,

Super tired yesterday, my legs and feet where so sore from walking around with added weight from the rain that we got on Sunday. :( This morning my feet where still sore so I did Yoga Meltdown Level 2 and Skogg Intervals Level 2. Those are workouts that don't have you jumping around. I don't think that my feet are ready for that yet. ;)

We have shutdown this week, so our office is HOT! Today is a tank top day. :D

heartymax, Hope all went well with school yesterday. My dd doesn't start until the 5th. Oldest starts her college courses after labor day also. Nice that you had a chance to spruce up your wardrobe.

Sam, The Old Navy at Southridge closed, what a bummer. That one was the best in the area IMO! :D Glad you where able to find some jeans though.

Brenda, Good weekends all around, it sounds like. So you where in the same area as we where on Saturday. ;)

Have a great day!

Hello!!

This morning was Afterburn. Love, love this workout. I hope I don't get sick of it because right now it really works for me.

I meet again with the lady about painting the wall mural on Saturday the 8th. She's going to show me her ideas. I can't wait. :D

Sam - I hope you get some sleep tonight. I would give anything for a solid 6 hours of sleep. Insomnia is not a fun thing to deal with. I usually don't have a problem falling asleep, it's staying asleep that's an issue. :(

Laurie - Hope your feet and legs feel better tomorrow. We're not down in that neck of the woods very often.

Heartymax - How did DS first day go?

Hi Sue!!
Hi Susan!!

Have a great night!
Brenda

Morning Ladies,

This morning was 30 Day Shred Level 3 and Ripped in 30 Week 3. My feet felt way better today, but I did have some difficulty doing one legged hops.

Brenda, I bet that time until the 8th will be a hard wait. I would want to know right away. :D It isn't easy to not do a workout that you enjoy doing, great job on that workout though.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Ladies! Today is my 44th birthday and I am feeling great!

I have class on Mondays night for the next several weeks so I will likely sleep in on Tuesdays and take a rest day. Well, today I overslept but I managed to jump up to do Lower Body Tri-sets which is 35 minutes minus the stretch. I guess it always better to do a short workout than no workout.

The first week of school is going well. Thank you all for asking. It was a smooth first day. Since we are responsible for schedules, I am always nervous that something could go wrong. It went off smooth without a glitch as it has for the last few years. :DI have just been very tired each day.

Hi Ladies!!

This morning was STS Meso 1 Disc 11, Back and Triceps. Felt the heavier weights this week. One more workout and I'm done with Meso 1. Next week is supposed to be an active recovery week. I'm not real good about doing an active recovery week. I usually do some hard cardio. What have you guys done on an active recovery week?

Laurie - Yes, the 8th can't come soon enough. :) Glad your feet felt better today.

Heartymax - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you had a great day! Glad to hear the first week of school is going well and had a good start.

Hi Sue!
Hi Susan!
Hi Sam!

Have a great night!!
Brenda

Hi ladies! I was going to post yesterday when I got home from the cabin but was too busy doing laundry! Had a nice relaxing time up north. I did go for a 1 hour walk everday and did 45mn of pilates everyday. I took my bands along too.

This morning I could not get my booty out of bed! I did manage to take Ruby for a walk and am right now going to go do S90 Core Dynamics.

Tomorrow night is DS's back to school night. He's excited. DD is walking up to the High School with her buddy to get her schedule tomorrow. They start on the 4th.

Brenda, glad your doing better. Congrats on Meso 1! :)

Heartymax: Happy Birthday! We're the same age.. well.. you're about 8 months younger, but that's okay!:D Hope you have a wonderful day!

Laurie, are your feet better? I am going tobe getting back into running starting this weekend and hope my ankles and feet behave!

HI Sue!
Hi Sam!

HAve a good night~ Susan

I'm back! Good morning ladies! I just finsihed CrossFire. Boy, I needed that - it felt really good to get my butt kicked!:D

I'll try to check back later. Hope you all have a great day, try to stay cool! Supposed to be back in the 90's today!

Stay strong~ Susan

Morning Ladies,

This mornings workouts where Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, and 6 Week Six Pack Level 1. Had plenty of time to get in both of these workouts done, since I was awake at 3am from construction noise from the freeway. The wind must have been blowing from that direction, because the noise usually doesn't bother me.

DH is getting home from his convention today, so hopefully we will be able to go out and celebrate our 24th Anniversary! That was on Monday, but he had to leave for the conference that day. ;) We also have to get to the school to register the youngest. That shouldn't take to long though.

heartymax, Happy Belated Birthday! Hope your day was a good one. ;) I'm sure it will take a little while for you to adjust to getting back to work.

Brenda, LOL about the recovery week. I have that same problem. WTG on having M1 almost done.

Susan, Yes my feet are doing pretty good, but I'm sure after this weekend they will be back to sore. But then this is the last weekend! :D Hope your running goes well also, I have been tempted by the running. Just tempted! We still don't have AC in the office yet, something happened with the cooling water yesterday. Hope they get it figured out soon, don't want to spend another day in a hot office. :(

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning! No workout for me yesterday. In case you're not keeping track, that was three days in a row with no workout  I finally got a few hours of good, restful sleep last night, so I was able to work out this morning. I did my usual better-than-nothing workout-- the combos from Imax 3. When I take that many days off, and I'm still pretty tired, I always feel like I have to ease back into things.

I'm feeling frustrated, like I'm always starting over. So, I'm going to write down what workouts I want to do for the next month or so. When I do that I seem a bit more motivated to get them done. I still don't know what to do when the insomnia hits, but when I'm working out more, I generally sleep better. (Generally...)

Heartymax- Happy belated Birthday! I hope you had a great day! The first week of school is so exhausting. Every year I'd think, "How am I going to do this for nine months???".

Susan- I hope you had a restful time at the cabin. Gotta love the post-vacation laundry marathon :p

Brenda- September 8th! That seems so far, but it's really not. Tomorrow's the last day of August already! You have to give me your secret for getting yourself pumped up to do tough cardio early in the morning after a bad night of sleep :) I have to sit around with my coffee for a good hour before I feel like I can do anything, and even then I usually don't feel ready to do anything really intense.

Laurie- One more weekend! Yay! I bet you're looking forward to having your weekends open. Happy anniversary! Next year will be a "big one" for you. Any exciting plans for your 25th?

Well, my mom, with her bad back, aging parents, and an almost invalid sister, finally got fed up enough and quit her job. :D She was trying to hang on until she was 66, but she decided she couldn't stand it anymore. She's a bit emotional though. She's been a nurse since she was 21! Her last day should be mid-September, and I'm trying to think of some nice gift or get-together we could arrange for her.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good Evening Ladies!!

This morning I did the Ultra Cardio Blast from Drill Max. If you haven't done that one, you do each blast two times in a row. It's a good cardio but kind of repetitive doing the same blast right in a row.

Susan - Glad you had a relaxing time up at the cabin. On the pilatesonfifth website, do you have to join to be able to down load the workouts? I'm thinking about changing gears on my leg workouts and do pilates instead of weights and see what happens.

Laurie - Happy belated Anniversary!! I bet it will be nice to have DH home and celebrate.

Sam - that's a pretty tough better than nothing workout doing Imax 3. I like it better when I'm working out to a rotation. My secret for getting pumped up so early in the morning to workout is guilt. ;) Gosh, no secret... I have my mornings where I don't want to get up but I know if I don't I'm going to lay in bed, won't be able to fall back asleep because I'll be thinking about the workout I should be doing. Once I usually get myself down in the basement and start the warm up, I'm usually fine. That and I know I always feel better after my workout. I love that sense of accomplishment. Don't get frustrated with yourself, you'll get back into the swing of things. Like you said, write down a rotation to help you stick with your workouts. Hopefully it'll help the insomnia.

I'm sooooooooo happy tomorrow is Friday.... it's been a long week.

Hi Sue!
Hi Heartymax!!

Sleep tight!!
Brenda

Hey Brenda, you do have to join / register but that is free to do. Then go to the "online" tab and then workout library. They do have quite a bit for lower body...

Sleep well~ Susan

Good Friday Morning! Even though I had a short work week, it felt like a long one!:p Today was pilates for 1 hour and I will be doing something after work I just haven't decided what yet...

My weekend looks uneventful, no big plans. Hope to get some stuff done around here before the kids start school. I want to paint my kitchen and living room areas in September so I am going to look into that. I also need to sit down and write up my next rotation...

Hope you all have a great weekend! Relax and enjoy~ Susan

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!

This morning was my last day of STS Meso 1 and today was legs.

I'm very happy today is Friday and we have a three day weekend!!

Susan - thanks for the info on the web. I'm going to join this weekend.

Everyone have a great and relaxing weekend!!!
Brenda

Morning Ladies,

This morning I was in the mood for some kickboxing, so I did 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing. I added on Skogg Ladders Level 2. :D

Sam, I'm sure that you will come up with a great combo of workouts to help tempt you back into working out. ;) WTG on the Imax 3 workout! We don't have any plans so far on our 25th, I think that we may spend the Labor Day weekend up with my family. It would be nice to be with them for that. Probably have a party with family and friends, but have not determined when. ;)

Brenda, I'm going to be happy when the day is actually Tuesday! :D I took that day off for recovery after the long weekend. I'm happy today is Friday though. Hope you have some great plans for the weekend. :)

Susan, Oh painting the kitchen is a PITA! ;) I did that during one of my lay-off weeks. The tough part was taping all the cabinets, and windows. But the outcome is so wonderful, so have fun planning it out and of course picking a color. Enjoy planning out the rotation also.

Have a wonderful fun filled weekend everyone!

Happy Friday, everyone! Sounds like most of us are looking forward to the long weekend. I wrote out a rotation last night, which is basically Cathe's August rotation with subs for the workouts I don't have. I may take a gander at her September rotation, too.

And then I didn't get up to workout this morning.... No real excuse this time. I was just lazy! Oh well. I'm telling myself tomorrow is September 1st, and the start of a new fall focus.

Brenda- I only did the COMBOS from Imax 3! Ha! No blasts  I really like that premix because I love the combos, and it makes me break a sweat, but it's not insane. I do usually feel good in the mornings by the time the warm up is over. I need to remind myself of that when I'm staring at my coffee thinking there's *no way* I could do something tough.

Susan- I'm looking to paint my living room, too. We were planning on painting our kitchen, but the room is so old and so gross we think we're going to wait until we can afford to completely remodel. All my appliances work, so I can put up with ugly for awhile. Have fun choosing colors! I just love painting!

Laurie- Have fun celebrating with your DH this weekend. I ask about your 25th because next year is our 10th, and we've been throwing around different ideas to make it special. A friend suggested trying to reunite our wedding party, but I don't think that will be possible, as many of them live out of state.

We're headed to the Brewer game tonight, and then plan on doing more stuff around the house this weekend (WHY did we buy a fixer-upper?? WHY??)

Have a great weekend!
