Buff Badgers Week May 2nd

heartymax

Cathlete
I am excited that this is the last week of STS! Today was Chest and Back! My goal was to improve definition and strength and not weight loss. Each day I will compare weights lifted in MESO 1 compared with MESO 3. I did not do the 1RM so started at what I thought.

Meso 1 Meso 3
Chest Flys 15 30
Incline Flys 15 25
One Arm Row 20 30
Deadlifts (dumbells) 20 30 dumbells
65 barbell

I am very pleased with my gains. This program truly pushed me to lift heavier!

I didn't take any measures but I have visible changes in my body that I CAN SEE!!!!:D

HI there! I am so glad last week is over! That was a doozy! I also ate way too much over the weekend. I sat down Sunday night and re-evaluated and set some new goals and am back on track! Yesterday I told the elliptical I wanted it to kick my butt and it did not disappoint! That was a tough workout! Today I am doing Cathe's Bootcamp.

Heartymax, congrats on STS! You had great gains and to have results you can SEE is wonderful!! What do have planned to do next?

Hope you are all doing well!

I'll try to check back later!

Take care- Susan

Morning Ladies,

I should learn not to take a day off, yesterday was just crazy busy. I am keeping up with my S90 workouts, and this morning it was Cardio Challenge. Yesterday was legs, and I did something on Saturday, just don't recall. Sunday was hauling brush.

DD18 was told that she needs to attend the awards banquet tomorrow, because she received Most Vauable Senior Athlete award. I received that same award my senior year. :D

heartymax, Congrats on getting to the end of STS! What great results you've gotten.

susan, WTG getting that eliptical to kick your butt! :D

Have a great day!

Laurie - I had to laugh when I read what you wrote for yesterday (being crazy busy) because that was what I was going to write! :D WOW! Congrats to DD18 on her award. That sounds like quite an achievement. Now tell her she has to have a daughter that wins it too and carries on the tradition. ;) How many weeks of S90 do you have left?

Heartymax - Great job on STS! I have to admit that I was skeptical about getting any great strength gains from STS after lifting for almost 12 years but I am also lifting heavier than ever before.

Susan - How did the confirmation go on Sunday? I am constantly re-evaluating, too. Sometimes I wish someone would just tell me what to eat (and of course make all my meals for me!) and what exercises to do and monitor me 24x7 so I can't cheat! :p

I'm back to phase 1 of South Beach for a few days. I really blew it on Friday night and Sunday so am glad to be back to my routine this week since it's much easier to stick to my diet when I'm not around the house all day.

Here's how my weekend went:

Saturday - Kelly Coffey-Meyer's TLC (Train Like a Contender) with 1 pound hand weights. First time doing this one and LOVED IT! :D
Sunday - STS #27 Shoulders, Bis, Tris
Monday - Intensity premix of my own - warmup, Low HIIT, High HIIT, Low HIIT
Today - Rest day!
Tomorrow is STS #28.

Hi! I am on my last week of undulating STS...can´t wait to finish. Every time I do STS I am so ready to finish.

Nice job, heartymax, although remember that meso 1 is lifting lighter weights for more reps, so now check how much heavier you can do meso 1 :D:D:eek: I find that my weights have remained pretty much the same over the years I´ve had STS, but then, that´s fine by me!

Fri was a 7 mile run, Sat STS Mon: run, today STS

Laurie, congrats on DDs accomplishments

Sue, you are doing great workouts!

Susan, I admire you for setting goals...I guess I just kind of wing it...which is not the best way to do things!

Today was an unplanned rest day!

Did anyone order the new workouts. I have not and probably will not. I am only interested in 1 or 2 DVDs so I will just wait and purchase the ones that I want. After buying STS----and having to purchase new weights$$$$---I am going to use it and be happy with what I have for a while.

Susan---I plan to do MESO 1 and 2 again. I won' t get a chance to do MESO 3 before I go on vacation. Meso 2 is actually my favorite! Meso 3 is just too long and I am glad to see it over. I do like Plyo legs though.

Lala--yep! I do remember that Meso 1 is lighter. Even so, I never would have guess that I would lift 8 reps of any weight as heavy as i can now. I will keep you posted on how much heavier I can lift when I start Meso 1 again.

Laurie---Congrats to DD! That is so awesome! I can see your proud smile all the way over here. :D

Sue----I understand your being skeptical. I didn't know what to expect when I purchased it either.

Where is Karen?

Morning Ladies,

S90 Back & Biceps for me this morning.

Dang cold yesterday during DD14's track meet. I had on my winter coat/hat/mittens. By the time she was done, my feet where freezing. I was so glad to get in the car and start up the heat. :D

Sue, Great minds think alike. ;) Sometimes it is so hard to keep on track when trying to keep our eating in line. Glad you can go back to phase 1. I have 5 weeks left on this rotation.

Lala, You did the 3 month rotation for the undulating? I think that is about the longest I have ever done a rotation also. I look at the STS 6 month, and I know I could never do those workouts for that amount of time.

heartymax, I am not going to pre-order the new workouts. Like you there are a couple that I like the looks of, but will wait for reveiws before I order. LOL on the Plyo Legs.

Have a wonderful day!

Heartymax - LOL! Your update said it all. Plyo Legs is a toughie - that I know from doing just 1 of them so far.

Laurie - You are a good mom to stand out in the cold and watch the track meet. Unfortunately (or fortunately ;)), DS' track meets are right after school and his event (discus and shot put) are first so it doesn't pay for me to go.

I ordered the new Cathe workouts :D - mainly because I'm intrigued by those gliding discs and can always use more low impact cardio options. I haven't had any knee or ankle pain in a LONG time and I think it's because I modify or do more low impact cardio.

This morning was STS Disc #28 Chest and Back (3 sets only).

Howdy! Today I am mowing the lawn for the first time this year and then I will either get on the elliptical or do pilates.

Laurie, when I hear about parents having to sit in the cold and or rain this season I am so happy my DS did not want to go out for baseball or soccer this year! :)

Heartymax, hope you enjoyed your rest day!

Hope you all have a good night!

Susan

Morning Ladies,

S90 Ultimate Ball for me, and I had to use my Barry's Bootcamp pill shaped ball. Only one move was a little difficult with that thing. I really need to get a new stability ball.

DD18 got her award last night, and it was a bit larger than I thought it would be. It had two medalions on it that represented cross country and track. That was pretty cool. Then youngest came home, and their team got first at the Oconomowoc Track Meet. :D Of course she didn't feel that she did all that well. :D

Sue, Well you will be our go to person for information on how those new workouts are. ;)

Susan, Oh yes the lawn mowing season has begun. :D This season you are really lucky not to be out in this weather. I'm just hoping with these warmer temps coming up, that the weather people are wrong about all the rain. ;)

Have a great day!

Laurie - DS14 was at that Oconomowoc Track Meet, too! He said he did "okay". Congrats to your daughter's school on winning it. DS said our 4x100 "Dream Team" (that's what he called them) had a bad exchange with the baton. I'm never short on opinions ;) so I'll be sure to let everyone know about the new workouts. You deserve a new stability ball

Had to leave the house early this morning so no workout yet today. I want to do cardio tonight but kids need to be picked up and I'm not sure when. Hopefully DH can help so I can get my workout in.

Hi! Let´s see...Tues STS 22 , Wed was a 4.5 mi run and today was STS 24 legs. Heartymax, I agree with you, meso 2 is my favorite.

Laurie, yes it is a 3mo. rotation...1 more disc and I´m done! Congrats on DDs accomplishments!

Sue, I often only do 3 of the 4 sets in M3, too, it makes the workout shorter :)

I did order the new ones...both DVD and downloads. I figured that DVDs may be going the way of VHS and wanted to keep my options open. I also got the spinning one. I think some low impact will be good for me!

Susan, yea, I´m looking at my lawn, too...but just looking ;) Hoping to fertilize and dethatch before that first mow!!

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother´s Day!!

I finished STS!!!!!! I truly wondered if I could make the level of comittment needed to finish! I got them all in and feel pretty proud of myself right now. WOO HOO!!!

lala---See you are getting those miles in preparing for the marathon. Are you doing a countdown?

Laurie---your DD must have been estactic.

Sue---so your DD was at the same track meet as Laurie's. How funny is that???

Susan---in case you didn't know....lawn mowing counts as a cardio and weight workout....:D

Did I miss something about Karen? Is she away on vacation or something?

Morning Ladies,

No workout for me yet, my knee is bothering me. I didn't thing that Tabata Inferno would help it at all. I will see how it feels after I get home from work.

Sue, I'm not surprised that the schools where at the same meet. From what I understand that is one of there biggest meets. Probably why they got home so late. I'm stopping on my way home from work tonight to get that stability ball. ;)

Lala, Did you enjoy the undulating? I think I'm headed for the download versions also, on the ones that look good to me.

heartymax, Congratulations on finishing STS! After this rotations will not be nothing.

Have a great day!

Hello! Sorry for not getting a chance to post yesterday. I did Kick Punch Crunch. It was fun. Today I am doing Core Synergistics from P90x. Start of a 4 day weekend for me. Plan to get my hair cut, do some shopping, relax... I am thinking about having a garage sale during our towns city-wide garage sale weekend. I need to go through my stuff and see if I have enough to warrant having one.

Laurie, hope your knee feels better soon. I noticed yesterday when doing the jump kicks in KPC my knee felt a little unstable...

Heartymax, congratulations!! Way to go!!:D You should be proud! I do not know where Karen, but I bet she'll be back!

Lala, you are doing great with your running. I need to get me some new shoes before I start again.

Sue, Did you manage to get your workout in last night? If not, I hope you were able to relax!

I hope all of you have a wonderful Mother's Day! :D
Susan
