Buff Badgers Friday 8/5/05

Morning Everyone,

Today will be day 5 of Aug05 rotation. This one consists of the following:

5 minute BRISK power walk, 400 walking lunges, 200 jumping jacks, 8 sets of 8 push ups, 400 crunches from all angles, 4 sets of 25 dips

I will let you know how this goes. I will also be playing volleyball.

I am so glad it is Friday today. The only problem was I got up thinking that it was the 12th, I shouldn't have looked at some mail and then the calander. Didn't need to get my heart racing that early in the morning. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

I haven't checked in for a couple of days, but I've been pretty good at sticking with my body blast rotation, I missed one day, but got right back on track yesterday. Today is Legs and Glutes.

My knees are taking a bit of a beating, so I may need to look at modifying a little more. Last night before bed they were just aching. Have you experienced this also? I'm hoping that as I go my legs will get stronger to help support my knees...

Anyhow - hope everyone has a great, buff day!

Amy

Hi Amy,

Glad to see you posting when you get the chance. When I first started working out I did experience knee pain, or when I did step at 8 inches. I lowered my step and haven't had any knee pain since.

Laurie

Thanks Laurie,

I'm working at 6" right now... I would feel like a wimp lowering to 4, but maybe it would be worth a try...and worth keeping my knees healthy...and I could go back up as I get stronger... I may consider that next step workout.

Good morning BBs and TGIF!

Laurie-have "fun" (?) with that workout today lol. Ok, I give up-what's the 12th?

Hi Amy. I sometimes have pain in my left knee only, for some reason. I also lower my step for a workout or two and that seems to help. There's always ibuprofen, but for some people it makes them retain water.

I have set up a "group" email list so we can keep in touch re: gatherings, etc.... I have email addresses for those that were at our dinner on Wednesday. Those of you that weren't there, would you mind emailing me at [email protected] with your address if you want to be included? Thanks!

Well I was disappointed this morning at my weekly WW weigh in. I expected that I wouldnt' lose this week, since I had those 2 margaritas and some wine last night. But I was up 2 pounds this morning! I know it's party water weight from the alcohol, but it's not more than 2 pounds. So it's my second week of not losing, even though I stayed within my "points" for the week. *sigh*

I never got a workout in yesterday because work-YUCK! I sure wish I didn't have to work so I'd have time for exercise and fun stuff lol.

Have a great Friday!

Pedmom,

If it had been the 12th then I would have forgotten to do Chancel Duty at church. And since I didn't go last night I thought I had made a major mistake when I thought it was the 12th. My brain has not been functioning properly this week at all. I usually don't blame TTOM, but I am this week. x(

Sorry about the weigh in. :-(

Laurie

I can relate to the being up in weight this week. I've been up and down this week, but today being my official weigh in day I'm up 1 pound. I've had some splurges this week, but I also worked out 4 times when I haven't been working out at all in the past several weeks. It;s frustrating, but I am sure it will all work out in the end. I also count "points" - good to hear that I'm not the only one counting! Here's to a loss next week!

Amy

Amy - I have knee pain from time to time and just make sure to take it easier on the high impact stuff and stretch my quad a little more. (My knee pain is in the patellar - right above the knee.)

Laurie - The 400 walking lunges sound tough but the rest of the stuff I think I could handle. Good luck! Let us know if you can walk tomorrow! LOL

Jill - Don't sweat the 2 pounds. It's probably just water weight that'll be gone in no time. Before the Cathe trip I was doing extra workouts and really watching my diet hoping to lose a few but ended up gaining 3 pounds in 1 week! Ugh - SO FRUSTRATING!

Well, we survived Six Flags! It was sooooooo busy yesterday. And hot. I'm tired and sunburned today. Yes, I used sunscreen but this brand must not be as wateproof as the bottle says. This morning was a good day for Coremax and Stretchmax (1 segment each). Tonight I'll try to get a jog in. If it's too hot outside it might be more of a jog/walk so we'll see.

Yesterday before leaving for Six Flags I did Lowmax. I love the last section with the kickbox on the step. Also did a ton of walking. I'm hoping for good news when I weigh and measure myself on Saturday.

I'm on vacation next week with the kids but my husband has to work M-W so we're not going out of town. Hopefully I'll be able to get in some longer workouts AND catch up on my sleep. I'll still be checking in to see how my fellow BBs are doing.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Sue

Laurie-LOL @ blaming TOM. I think "he" can be blamed for anything you deem appropriate!

Amy-Marie is on WW also. This was my third week. The first week I was down 5 pounds, but I had really overindulged the 2 days before I started. The second two weeks I have stayed the same. Grrrr. It's just frustrating tracking all these points and not seeing results. Hopefully things will get moving soon.

I also know that once school starts I will be able to put more thought and time into my eating and exercise. I work from home 4 days a week, so I am the parent that gets to drive to baseball practice, football practice, etc.... all the time. Very distracting and time consuming. Plus I lost my babysitter for part of the summer and had my younger son here for the last 3 weeks. He needs watching, so that's been added stress. Back to school soon!

Speaking of school....what do you guys pay for fees in your town? I live in East Troy and we registered my older son, who will be a sophomore, yesterday. I wrote checks totaling $260! That included yearbook and pictures, but $172 of it was just for "fees". So much for our free public education.

Sue-I'm glad you had nice weather and a fun day. I haven't been to Six Flags in SOOO long. It's tough cuz my older son has baseball all summer, which means practice or games every day (even weekends). That ended last week and now it's football. Actually he had baseball/football overlap for a week. Plus he plays in a Sunday night football league in Janesville, and a Thursday night basketball league in Waterford all summer.

See what I mean about driving duty taking over? LOL. I'll be happy when he gets his license in November!

Hi everybody,
Just a quick checkin. I'm in Florida with my family but am hoping to keep my workouts up. We're going to Disney on Sunday so we'll be doing lots of walking.
I brought my Kick Max, KPC and Core Max DVDs along, and today I did Kick Max. The more I do that tape, the more I like it. I didn't think much of it at first, but it's really a great workout -- it moves quickly and is tough but fun.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday Everyone!

I'm doing Imax2 today. I really do enjoy doing that tape. I also have my 10 year reunion tomorrow night, so that will be a lot of fun. It is always fun to see how people have changed.

~Ellen- I hope you are having a great time and good for you for bringing your workouts with you! you are one motivated gal!!

Robin :)

Hi BBs!
No official workout. We went to the State Fair and walked from 9:30 - 3. I should have worn shoes with more cushioning! Didn't do too bad with the eating - just a burger, a few fries, and an apple sundae. Yes I am doing WWs but not good about tracking. Mostly just watching portion sizes and trying to eat healthy most of the time. I go to the meetings for the accountability. I weighed in on Wed morning at my meeting and was down 1.6 but that was for 2 weeks.

I wonder when Cathe's new workouts will be out. She said possibly August.

Have a good weekend.

Marie,

I'll bet we're practically neighbors... I live in Milwaukee, but I'm 1 block from Greenfield. I'm so glad we're all posting together - it helps to keep me accountable! And 2 other WW girls - awesome! I'm hoping for a loss next week...keeping my fingers crossed

Amy

Amy & Marie- I just sent a group email before I read this. Do you know which local restuarants/chains have WW friendly menu items? I mean where they actually show points? That would be so great! I was happy to see the Smart Ones frozen dinners showing points tonight at Super Walmart.

Off to scrounge something for myself for dinner. My boys had Subway (yum) but I skipped it since I had dinner out Wed and Thur. I'm gonna go try one of my new frozen dinners. I know it must seem weird to be happy about that, but it's been a LONG time since I had a little frozen dinner. Not much available on low carb!
