Buff Badgers Friday 12/16

Morning BB's,

Today will be PLB/Abs/CTX Kickbox cardio only. Saturday is a 5 mile run and PLB stability ball. Sunday will be stretching.

TGIF I made it to the end of the week. :D Looking forward to the weekend. I'm making cut-out cookies tomorrow. Will make the batter tonight. We also are having some friends over on Sunday. Only invited four people over, not like Sue with the 32. That is like my whole family showing up for an event. :7 I'm taking a half day on Monday, getting my eyes checked for new glasses. I'm hopeful that the bi-focal stage is not upon me. x( Little signs have been appearing though. Sometimes my arms seem to be too stretched out.

Jill, I'm not a soda drinker, but I do love my coffee and tea. :9

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning Laurie and all the BBs to follow. :)

I like tea, too. That's what I need to drink more of now that it's cold. I like water to be ice cold and it's not too enjoyable in winter! Oh boy I hear you on the eyes! Mine get worse every year, and now that I'm almost 40 I can really tell it's going downhill. My arms need to grow a little I think!

Took some pics this morning. Travis was cranky and always perks up for a picture, he's such a ham. And so is Mace! The "puppy" is getting so big!! I've given up trying to keep him off my couch and just put a blanket down and vaccuum a lot. As you can see he loves it!

Today I'm doing TLP Functional Strength. And then tonight I will walk on the treadmill for some cardio while watching Northern Exposure.

Drive carefully everyone!

RE: Cool Pictures

Jill, Great pictures! Love the smile on Travis. Didn't realize how large Mace is. He has really grown, and is turning into a very good looking dog. We had to put coat hangers on our couch at night to keep our dog off of it. :D Sounds crazy, but it worked.

RE: Cool Pictures

Thanks Laurie. It's hard to get Travis to keep his eye open for a picture! I got a new dig camera and I think I need to figure out how to turn the red eye thing off so he doesn't know when the flash is coming.

Mace is WAY bigger than I expected him to be. When I got him, the shelter lady said she thought he'd be 35-40 lbs. full grown. The vet adds 5 lbs. every time I have him in there! Now the vet thinks he'll top out at 50-60!! A LOT bigger than I wanted, but what can I do now? LOL. He was 38 lbs. two weeks ago when he was weighed there. He is 6.5 months and has a lot of growing to do yet!

My friend said to get some of that carpet runner stuff-you know the clear stuff with the pokey things on the bottom? She is a breeder and has pups around a lot. She puts it on the couch with the pokey things up. I may try that.....he's so spoiled!

Good morning,

I haven't decided exactly what I'll do for exercise today. I think I'm mainly going to do some yoga, although I may add on a bit of cardio if I feel the need. I also haven't decided what I'm going to do this weekend. See, this is why I need a rotation, even if I struggle to stick with them :)

I had my last class of the semester last night! I have finals on Monday and Tuesday and then I will be done for a few weeks.

I'm glad it's finally the end of the week too. It's going to be another busy weekend, but it's a fun kind of busy (hair coloring appointment, Christmas shopping, tree decoration, cookie-baking).

Laurie, have fun making cookies and spending time with your friends!

Jill, those are some great photos. I gave up long ago keeping my dogs off the furniture. We're getting a new recliner delivered tomorrow (my boyfriend's Christmas present), and I'm sure they will be among the first to sit in it. Bailey doesn't even sit flat on the floor if she can help it... if there's a pillow, a blanket, a shoe, a sock on the floor, she'll find it and sit on that instead. Nothing but the best for her behind ;)

Have a great day/weekend,

Ellen

Morning, Everyone

Today I'm going to try to get my MIC workout in finally, after 2 days of a hectic schedule.

We're going to Iowa tomorrow for a family Christmas thing (my husband and I are both from Iowa originally), so it's going to be a hectic weekend. Bring on the Tom and Jerrys, and don't skimp on the rum!

Jill, it was nice to see some pictures. Being new to this check-in, it's fun for me to see pics of y'all. If people want to see some pics of me and my family, you can check out a website I have for my son (for distant family, mainly). http://www.uwosh.edu/faculty_staff/neises/henry/ It's, um, pretty tongue-in-cheek.

Travis is so cute, his jacket looks really cool in that picture! What a cute dog, too!!! So cuddly! We have a dog, too. He's a miniature pinscher. Sigh. Wish I could give you advice about dog obedience, but ours is a wee bit pampered. She won't do "her business" unless you walk her on a leash, and THEN she doesn't even like it if you LOOK at her while she's "going". She glances over nervously at you. It's really ridiculous.

I'm just trying to wake up this morning, sipping on my Diet Coke. Ah, aspartame in the morning. Smack! - Sarah

This is the part of IT I hate...Was called into a secret meeting this morning and found out one of my co-workers who's at a class today (work-related) is going to be fired on Monday. This particular co-worker is very tech savvy and I was called in to brainstorm on all the different things (user ids, passwords, access cards, etc.) that need to be changed in case of retaliation. This is particularly hard because I've worked with this person for 6 years and consider them a good friend. I'm feeling a little sad and can't discuss it with ANYONE. Only a few people here know. This person called me from class today on a work-related issue and I felt a little momentary panic that I would say something to tip them off but I didn't. What's worse is on Monday we're having a potluck so this person will show up with a dish to pass and then will be sent home. Hope they like whatever they make because they'll be eating it for awhile...This just sucks! x(

On a lighter note, I did Gilad Fat Burning workout and Core Secrets (first time). It was a good light workout and fun to do for a change.

Jill - Great pics! Thank goodness our cats are declawed because they love sitting on our leather sofa.

Laurie - The 32 I'm expecting is *almost* my entire family. A few can't make it and 1 sister lives in Denver so otherwise it'd be closer to 40. Yep, I'm from a good Catholic family in case you're wondering. ;-)

Ellen - I haven't been paying much attention to rotations either other than making sure to do the Gym Styles every week. I'm thinking (not willing to commit yet) of doing the August 05 rotation after Christmas to start the year with a real bang. Enjoy your break from classes.

Sarah! Your website is so cool! You should be a comedy writer because you crack me up. Gay pride parade...LOL Nice to finally "see" what you look like.

Busy weekend ahead of Christmas shopping (still not done yet!), wrapping, getting the house ready for hosting Christmas, baking and a neighborhood party. DH's ankle is still sore but at least he can walk on it. Feeling a little less guilty now. :+

See you all Monday!

Sue

Sue-oh dear what a crummy position you're in! I'm sorry you have to deal with it. And now you have to think about it all weekend-gah! And what bad timing with the potluck. *hugs* to you - I hope it goes smoothly.

Sarah-re: Trav's coat.....ex-BF works for Yamaha Corp. so we have tons of Yamaha stuff. That is actually one of my snowmobiling coats. The zipper on his coat broke yesterday so we are making due until I can get it fixed. Luckily it fits him----doesn't fit me right now anyway due to gaining weight lol. But its' reflective, which is why it looks so funny.

All this pet talk...........I have two cats and they are declawed also. But you know what stuns me? It's the HAIR!!!!! There is so much more hair from one dog than I've ever seen from two cats! My couch is that brushed suede stuff-micro something or other. And Mace's hair just STICKS to it.

sarah your website is so cool. I bet Henry loves seeing himself! Travis is always wanting me to take his pic and then see it on the computer. Travis is 13 but is adhd and autistic, so he probably has a lot in common with Henry lol.

ETA: SARAH I used to know some people with your last name. Twin brother and sister named Erik & Ingrid. Do you know them? They grew up in Oconomowoc (well they moved their from Milw when they were in about 8th grade or so)

Hey everyone

LOL, thanks for the compliments on the website. I don't even have this year's pics for Halloween up yet. Henry was Batmaaaaan this year. :)

Ellen - Good luck on your finals on Mon & Tuesday. I think the students at UW Oshkosh are pretty stressed out. Last night at about 11 PM we had two streakers come through the library - one wearing a long white wig.
:) I guess most of the students who witnessed it were more amused than horrified!

Sue - Wow, that sounds like a very rough situation with your colleague! What a terrible time of year to lose your job (not that any is good). And to have to come to the potluck! Oh my!

Jill - Yeah, Henry likes to see himself on "his" website :) Narcissist! LOL. We've had autism concerns with Henry too. He didn't talk AT ALL until he was almost 2 1/2. He has never been diagnosed with anything after consultations with doctors, etc, and he's come a long way due to an early-childhood program he has been in. They have really helped him with motor skills/language. My heart really goes out to you. I've done a lot of reading about autism, etc. It's so difficult!

I did MIC today - all the way up the the interval blast section, then I just pooped out. I think the step portion of MIC is pretty monotonous - all those "over and over" the boards. "And over and over AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN . . . ". Ugh. I love the hi/lo portion of MIC, but the step - eh.

Jill - Erik & Ingrid

No - I don't know them. The Evenson name seems pretty common up here - it's my husband's name. Maybe there is a distant relationship! You never know! Funnily enough, though, if Henry had been a girl instead of a boy - one of the names we had picked out was Ingrid! Weird! :)

Have a good weekend! - Sarah
