Morning All,

Well I got in Disc 1 Chest, Shoulders & Biceps, will do the Abs work after work. My arms feel like noodles right now. :D Good workout, but didn't care for all the weight changes. They happen so quickly. I'm guessing that I will get used to that though.

DD16 didn't do very well again in her race, and I'm thinking that it has to do with her body changing on her. I have noticed, and so has she that she is more curvy etc. So she is having to deal with this change, probably a good thing that she is having to deal with it at the beginning of the season.

I did absolutely nothing all weekend. On Saturday I got some much needed housework finished. On Sunday we went to church, and I had a sinus headache. So I took some meds, and took a football nap. ;) It is always easy to fall asleep during a football game.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I just had to post my snack for today. I saw this snack in Fitness Mag, and thought to give it a try. Surprised me how good it is.

1 small pear
1/2c cottage cheese
sprinkle nutmeg to taste

:D

Hello,

Today I did STS disk 13 and hard premix of coremax. Hope to still get a couple mile run in with my new shoes. I returned the old ones.

The boys times were DD11 11:37.5 and DD13 11:54.8 6th and 7th overall out of 47 kids. 2nd and 3rd for their school. It was a two mile course.

DS15 tied his soccer game on Sat. They sure have had a lot of ties this year.

The youth get together at our house went well. Lots of mud and the like on my floors and in my showers. You would think they would at least have the courtesy to clean up after themselves. Teens really don't listen well at all.

Laurie, sorry DD didn't do well in her race. Those changes really effect a lot of areas. Is you sinus infection gone? Glad you got in a little nap. I didn't get in any workouts in either. The snack sounds healthy. Don't think I could eat it cause I really do not like cottage cheese.

Hi Sue, Susan and Lala. Hope you had a beautiful weather weekend like we had and got some good kickin workouts in.

Have a wonderful day.

Laurie - Your snack sounds yummy! I love pears. Hopefully your DD will figure out how to work with her curvier figure. My DD has become curvier in the past year, too. Last year she was 5'1" and 95 pounds. Now she 5'4" and 115. With Marching Band it doesn't make much of a difference though.

Karen - What's all the mud about? Were they doing some sort of project that made them muddy? Your boys are FAST! They must take after you.

Here's what I did last weekend:
Friday - Step Fit
Saturday - PLB
Sunday - BL Cardio Max #1 + 2 mile walk
Monday - Leslie 4 Fast Miles

DS got a little beat up in his football game on Saturday. A foot came through the front of his helmet after a tackle and gave him a bloody nose. His knee is all scraped up and bumps and bruises all over. After a little TLC and a good lunch, he felt much better. And we won!!! 33-19 :D

Susan, a win always makes things feel better. Sorry he got hurt though. You are really getting all your workouts in lately. You go!!! We had an outdoor/water get together for the teens at the church and many extras. They spent hours tubing, kayaking jousting, canoe racing, jumping on the water trampoline, water balloon fights and paddle boating. Then they all changed in our bathroom some better than others. I definitely haven't been running as much anymore and have lost quite a bit of speed and even wanting to try to get faster. Glad I am not in a sport where I have to compete.

Take care.

Hi ladies!

My weekend was busy and went by too quickly! Saturday,I did Jillian's NMTZ that I got from the library. I was surprised again by how tough it was! I was sweatin' buckets! Sunday was a walk and a nap! LOL!

Today I am doing S/H Legs & Shoulders.

DS had his first ever tackle FB game. They lost 20-14 but they were really proud of themselves cause they did well for never really playing before! After the game I ran errands, worked on Sunday School stuff and attempted to catch up on laundry. Sunday was church & S. School and then I clean, cleaned, cleaned! I was on a mission! :D Still catching up on that laundry too!

Laurie, I bet your DD will adapt to her new figure and get back to where she wants to be. Hope your headache is better.

Karen, a housefull of teens would drive me nuts! And you are right, some of them don't listen at all!

Sue, good job getting your workouts in! Your DD grew a lot this past year!

Well, I better go take Ruby for her afternoon jaunt!

Take care- Susan

Guess I´ve been MIA for a while!! The first weeks of school are always so busy! I took a rest week the first week and am working on some full body workouts with cardio on the off days.

Although the other day I woke up the the outside of my knee was bothering me so I´m just doing UB for a while. What kind of cardio can i do that doesn´t use legs???

Sounds like you all had a nice weekend! Karen, despite the mud, it´s nice that the kids want to spend time at your house.

Laurie, I´ve had sinus headaches...no fun:( Hope you enjoyed the game! DS got to go to it! Are you doing STS?

Susan, bet DS really enjoyed the game...and I´m sure they´ll win this season!

Sue, hope DS recovers from his injuries, but Karen is right...a win always makes things better!

Good Morning,

Never got my run in yesterday. Today I am biking tonight and will probably do STS leg workout or run to see how my new shoes are. Hate to waste this nice weather inside.

Susan, glad your DS is enjoying football. It's nice when you can lose and still be happy about how you played. Nice workouts over the weekend, I especially like napmax.

Lala, lots of the kids didn't want to be there. It's a long story. We had lots of attitude and some troubled kids that were brought along. Our pastor did give a short devotion during the bonfire time. Hope things are calming down after a few busy weeks of school. Cardio without legs--not much.:(

Hi to Sue and Laurie.

Have a great day. I get to watch more cross country tonight.:D

Oh What a Beautiful Morning!! :D I have a busy day today but hope to sneak in some cardio. After school/work DD and I have confirmation homework to do together and then she gave me fair warning that I will be helping her with Adv. Algebra again tonight. DS has FB practice so DH won't be home to help. I was surprised I was able to help her last night and I actually knew what I was doing! I hope to run downstairs while she reads for Lang. Arts and do CTX Kickbox. Then maybe run back down after other stuff and do CTX Power Circuits. We'll see. Biggest Loser starts tonight too!

Karen, enjoy your bike ride tonight! Isn't this weather awesome?

Lala, glad you could stop in and say Hi! I noticed yesterday while doing S/H Legs, the outside of my knee started to twinge. It's still bothering me a little today....:(

Hi Sue!
Hi Laurie!

Have a great day! Susan

Morning All,

Today's workout was JM's BFBM, and I sure could feel my chest muscles during the warm up of BFBM! Great workout though. Tomorrow I have to come in to work early for a health fair, so I will not get my workout done until after work.

Karen, Oh teenagers don't think! :D:D:D Too bad they don't think of the aftermath mess. Good job for your runners! Yep DD16 is going through some type of change, she just started her 2nd cycle in one month! One bad thing is her chest area is getting larger! My sinuses are off and on, but once we get a good frost then I should get better. ;) Sorry to hear you don't enjoy cottage cheese. :( Have fun with the cross country today. My youngest was really tired last night with her first practice.

Sue, Oh my on your DS! My DB used to play football, and played on the line. Every once in a while he would come home with cuts, poked eye or something! ;) Great workouts you are getting in. It is kind of scarry how fast these girls grow up on us. :(

Susan, I like your attempt to catch up on laundry. I think that happens with us too, or the girls just let everything accumulate. NMTZ is a great workout, and those surrenders make you work. :D

Lala, We did miss you, and wondered how school was going for you. :D Can't say that I could give you good cardio advice, but maybe some yoga would help with the lower body. ;) Yep I started STS yesterday, so I'm a little sore in my upper body this morning. :D

Laurie, just a little sore. My chest and tris are screaming. Only STS gives me constant DOMS. I wish my BFBM wouldn't have frozen up on me the other day when I tried to do it.

Susan, hope you get in all your workouts tonight. It must be nice to be able to help your kids with math. I really wish I was better at it. DD17 is failing geometry and chemistry right now. Her math teacher forgot how to teach. He has been teaching so long he just gives the kids their assignments and lets them figure it out for themselves. Not very nice to the kids either. Keeps putting them on the spot, especially if he knows they don't understand.:(

Finished STS disk 14 legs and did a segment of stretchmax. The bike ride tonight is going to be pretty easy becasue a big race is coming up this weekend for a lot of them and some just finished the tri in Madison.

It sounds like you are all enjoying the wonderful weather.:)

Lala - You can do jabs, hooks, uppercuts in a deep horse stance. Kind of boring I know. Maybe make it more interesting by using a timer and doing a minute of each. Have you tried Leslie Sansone?

Susan - DS' team should be proud and they'll continue to improve as they learn and practice more.

Laurie - I had to think about what exercise in the w/u for BFBM would make you feel your chest muscles and then I remembered. Ouch!

Karen - Sorry to hear DD's math teacher is not good. :( Can you complain to someone or find a tutor? Have fun on your bike ride tonight. The weather has been beautiful for bike riding this year.

No workout yet today. DD is home sick with fever, runny nose, headache. Suposed to keep her home until 24 hours after the fever has broken w/o use of medication to keep it down. Told her to take her temp and log it for me. This morning it didn't want to go above 98.3 but she sure felt warm to the touch. Would hate for her to miss another day of school when it jut started.

Well, now you ladies have me curious about BFBM! I tried to get it through our library but they don't have it yet. Might actually bite the bullet and just buy it! I saw it at Target for $14.

Laurie, hope you chest feels a bit better soon!

Karen, That stinks about your kids' teacher. My DD's problem is her teacher wants to help everyone but doesn't have enough time for the one on one. Also my DD has never been in an advanced level class before and is not used to being "pushed" or challenged. She liked it better when she just sailed right through. I think she'll get the hang of it in time.

Sue, sounds like your DD has what mine DD had last week! She came home Thursday with a fever/heache/etc.. stayed home Friday but was back to normal by Saturday. Hope yours recovers quickly!

Take care! Susan

Today was GS CT. Went to the PT(for other problems :( ) and he thinks it's my iliotibial band. seems that the RICE is helping.

Karen, now I get the teenage thing.:( But you really stepped up to open your house to them! How was the bike ride? It was hot here today, so hope it wasn't too hot for that.

Susan, kudos to you for being able to help DD in math! That is one of the subjects I hand over to DH!

Sue, actually the UB kickboxing idea is a good one...I hadn't thought of that.Sorry to hear about DD. I'm sure you're taking good care of her. "They" are expecting a bad flu season. We as teachers have been told to be prepared to give 5 days of take home work kids can do in the case that schools need to be closed

Laurie, have fun with STS. I don't remember each disk, just that each one has its own challenges!!

Good Morning,

Today I am going for a run and doing STS disk15 and abs. Bike ride last night was 32 miles. It was a perfect night for it.

DS's did great in the cross country meet again. Out of 140 people they placed 10 and 13. Top 3 in their school again. They have another one tomorrow night. Today is early release so I have to take DD to the ortho. DS15 has to go to the impact panel for drivers ed. tomorrow night also. I get to sit through another couple of hours listening how drunk drivers killed people. It is sad and I just did it last year with DD17. I think it is DH turn, what do you think?

Lala, is the rice in a sock heated in the microwave? Hope you get to feeling back to 100% soon. Are you going to STS again?

Susan, I'll bet your DD will just take off once she gets used to more being expceted of her. Nice her teacher is so helpful. I sent DD in today and told her to get a tutor. For some reason she thinks it is embarrassing and says shes not special needs.:(

Sue, how is DD today? Hopefully all is well and she is back in school. Did you ever quit drinking the diet soda? and is DH still working out?

Laurie, were you sore from STS or BFBM? Are you adding in any more cardio than what is recommended in STS program?

Have a great day.

Morning All,

So I got myself to work early this morning to help at the health fair, and I think I was one of three people that volunteered. Oh well, I had a good time tempting people to eat Activia and Danactive. :D Our cafe district manager had all this good stuff to try. They even had bananas, apples, popcorn, fruit juices.

My workout will be Disc 2 tonight after work. DD12 may or may not be in a race today. She just started Monday, so she doesn't feel that she should be in the race. :D I told her to do what her coach says to do. :D

Karen, Of course I was only a little sore after STS, because I didn't move anything until I started that warm-up. Then it hit me upside the head! Holy Chest Muscles Batman! :D DD16's Geometry teacher goes over things to fast for my DD, and then assigns at least 50 problems each day. DD is struggling because it is a lot of reading for her. She made some awsome muffins yesterday in her Foods class though. I'm going to give STS a week, and then see if I can add in some more cardio. So far I have not had the time or the will to add more.

Sue, Hope your DD recovers quickly, doesn't sound like a fun thing to go through. Ya those arm swings in BFBM are what really made me wince!

Susan, If you can get a copy for a look see, the BFBM is a good one. I like the fact that she progresses the intensity as she goes through each circuit. And of course I don't need any equipment, so it makes it a good morning workout.

Lala, Thanks for the STS challenge warning!:D Did you feel you needed the tower for Meso 3? Some people say that the chest work in 3 I will probably need a spotter or the tower.

Have a great day!

Hey Laurie, when I did STS, I just did what I could get up myself for chest. I am not that worried about how much I can bench press etc. If you want to actually do the weight you are suppose to increase by, you will need a spotter of the tower I would think. Let's see what Lala thinks. Just my two cents. Let us know if DD ends up racing or not. Did DD go in and get help or a tutor for geometry?

Susan - It sounds like DD has exactly what your DD had. She went back to school today. Just hope the 3 hour marching band practice so I hope that doesn't make her rebound and get sick again.

Lala - Wow! It's good to hear the schools are planning ahead in case they have to close but I hope it doesn't come to that.

Karen - I'm drinking less diet soda than before but haven't quit it entirely. I was eating more when I tried to quit because I felt deprived. I did discover that I can eat oatmeal with protein powder and peanut butter without adding Stevia and I've been drinking my coffee black, too. DH has only been working out 2 times a week. Better than nothing but he needs more. I need to drag him along on more walks at night. (Don't really have to drag him - he goes willingly.)

Laurie - What that chocolate flavored Activia you were tempting people with? ;) I don't know if I'd be tempted by something so healthy sounding.

Did Ripped 1000 last night. Must not have gone heavy enough with the weights because it felt really easy. I know it's no Cathe workout to start with but I remember the legwork at least being tougher than that.

Did anyone watch Biggest Loser last night? I've resisted this show for years but since I was listening to Jillian's radio show (before she quit it July), I was curious. Some people's stories are so sad. I didn't want any of them to go home last night!

Sue, bummed I missed BL. I was bike riding and when I got home I forgot about it.I heard Jillian was swearing at people a lot and treating them like garbage. Really don't care for her training techniques. Glad DD is back in school. Hopefully recovered enough that the band practice won't put her back at all. You are so strong Ripped 1000 doesn't even phase you anymore. Good job. Good idea with the protein powder and peanut butter in the oatmeal. I will try that sometime. Hopefully I can get a recap somewhere of BL so I can hear some of their stories. I guess the first one is not a good one to miss.

The trees are changing colors quickly. I know what comes after this.

Hi there! Well, today I am pulling out an oldie but a goodie: StepWorks. Haven't done this one in wayyy too long!

Yesterday DD's Algebra assignment was a monster! On top of that DD had Science, Social Studies and LA. She was not happy and did not get her Math done. I e-mailed her teacher today. She said she noticed DD was having a tough time and asked that she wait one more week. If she doesn't get Chpt. 2 she won't get anything. Starting in Chpt. 2 they move really fast and it's really hard! I am having her go to Homework Club after school tomorrow and Monday and see if there's a teacher there that can explain it better. Maybe then she'll "get it", or maybe not!

BL was interesting last night. There was a teacher who lost her hubby and children (one was 3 weeks old!) in a car accident about a year ago. I really want her to win!

Sue, glad DD is back at school!

Laurie, how long are the STS workouts, on average? That was neat of your work place to have a health fair too!

Karen, congrats to your kids for doing so well! :D Great job! Hope you enjoyed your run!

Well, DS is calling for help! I better go!

I hope you all have a great night! Susan
